yump - Years ago an elderly lady was told by her doctor to stop drinking gin as it was rotting her gut, so she went on to coke instead which the doctor said was worse than her drinking the gin and would rot her gut quicker.

Somebody once put his chewing gum in a glass of coke by his bedside. In the morning it was gone!

Coke is great for removing surface rust from chrome. I showed my kids that when they were quite young, which freaked them enough to avoid it !

yump - you mean it's Putin to blame, it's the fault of Russia going into the Ukraine to blame........it must be as every thing else that going wrong in the West is blamed on Putin....

At the entrance of my local Tesco on offer, they have pallet loads upon pallet loads of Jaffa cakes and coca cola for sale that they can't get rid of and yet every day more is delivered and comes in and yet the stuff that sells well they're not getting enough in.

That is a question that the Tories should answer, as they are clearly responsible ;-)

Up until this year, my local Tesco has in 3 pallet loads of 3 layers each of Daffodils and 1 pallet of 3 layers of Mixed Narcissi (1/2 length Daffodils) which takes circa 1 month to sell.

For some reason this year they only got in 1 pallet of 3 layers of Daffodils and just a single layer of Mixed Nsrcissi. These so few Mixed Narcissi were completely sold out with in just 48 hours.

I ask myself, why this year my local Tesco got in so few Daffodils and Mixed Narcissi while they have got in 6 massive box load of pumpkins for Halloween? - which is more than usual...

Perhaps the only way of stopping the obesity crisis is having bouncers on the doors with a set of scales.

Funny that, I took that up with my Tesco manager the other day: the HFSS non-compliant items are supposed to have an 'X' next to the facing number on the SHelf Edge Label.
So what did I find.
The Monster ones had, but the Red Bull didn't and yet they both had 11g sugar per 100g.
Go figure, who makes these decisions up ? Is it fair and independent ?

The restriction of HFSS products by location will come into force on 1 October 2022.

For the record my 14 year old boy has just come back from Tesco having just been bowling with his mates, he was refused to be sold a bottle of lucazade. Take it from me fizzy pop gets done on a limited basis at home, but not really sure what my take on this is.

Yump.

1 pizza a year
2-3 Indian curries a year.

Rest of the time eat home cooked, organic mainly.

:)

But we all have our vices!

Meanwhile, its our Friday pizza night here. Tricky decision… do I make them from scratch as we normally do, filling the house with great smells, or shall I take up the Dominos incredible bargain offer, where a single pizza costs £50, but I can get 2 for £60.

Indeed.
Best thing to do is legalise everything, tax everything.
And make people more responsible for their personal choices.

Fast food isnt nutritious, isnt cheap, but some like it or eat it because they cant cook themselves!!!(Home economics 101 in schools should be brought back and made mandatory)

Half lifes battle is the eating healthy, nutritious food that hasnt had a mountain load of chemicals hurled all over it.

Don’t know how relevant this is but I live in a quite affluent village and I’m seeing the Iceland van a lot now before very seldom if ever. It’s free delivery if they raised the quality a bit could be tempted you see it’s not just Aldi and Lidl the competition is everywhere.

Silchester buying more - now hold 5%.

These folk had a big stake in Morrisons prior to the takeover.

They must think there is some value here.
