17/8/2022 21:24 | That’s not right either is it? I looked on Wikipedia and it has ethnicity white 88.5%. That’s probably what I meant. | f56
17/8/2022 21:21 | Sorry I meant ‘tanned’ | f56
17/8/2022 21:20 | Thought "coloured" people didn't exist any more | grahamburn
17/8/2022 21:19 | Just to make sure that they are not deviating in any way from the standard. | f56
17/8/2022 21:16 | Can anyone tell me the percentage mix of coloured people that Tesco employ. I’m just wondering how it compares with the ethnic mix of the UK as a whole percentage wise. | f56
17/8/2022 10:30 | Food inflation reached 12.7% in July, having seen the highest monthly growth in more than 20 years. And there's no option of hunting out food that hasn't risen in price, as costs went up in every category the ONS records, with dairy, bread and cereals seeing the biggest uptick. | geckotheglorious
16/8/2022 21:43 | Sorry June was 27.3% and not 27.4% as I first posted. My figures come directly from the Kantar web site. In January Tesco had 27.9% market share, therefore since the beginning of this year Tesco have lost a full 1.0% in market share. Also shows that Aldi is now just 0.2% behind Morrison. | loganair
16/8/2022 21:31 | Now it was .1% not 1%. Just testing! Loganair, Your figures do not come from Kantar as from July to August their market share increased. What am I missing? | konradpuss
16/8/2022 21:10 | Yep I have... Tesco - June 27.4%, July 27.1%, August 26.9% therefore they have lost 0.5% market share over the past 3 months. | loganair
16/8/2022 20:16 | Did anyone see the Kantar figures? I guess increasing market share by 1% in no news on the Tesco board? | konradpuss
16/8/2022 14:08 | Walmart quarterly results Beat expectations | muffinhead
16/8/2022 11:16 | Food inflation hits 11.6% People adjusting and making lifestyle changes. More people will eat at home. UK hospitality; hotels, pubs, restaurants, Deliveroo, etc will be decimated over next year imo. Lots of job losses. The prices are ridiculous Supermarkets are in a good place to deal with the cost of living crisis | muffinhead
16/8/2022 11:02 | Non UK workforce getting back to work | muffinhead
15/8/2022 18:47 | It's all about life choices Most people don't complain and just get on with it No-mortgage outright ownership of UK homes rises | muffinhead
15/8/2022 10:32 | I'm guessing Logan you haven't heard of credit card debt/leasing but this is how many are funding their lifestyles currently. I see plenty of evidence of the cost of living crisis everywhere. | geckotheglorious
15/8/2022 10:23 | I much prefer self checkout and scan as you shop. | nathdani
13/8/2022 23:43 | Pampers almost half price at Sainsbury's today Supply chain issues may be mending It reminds me of the "Bullwhip effect" on price inflation | muffinhead
13/8/2022 16:25 | Tesco makes major change to checkout tills despite customer fury - 'boycott them!' TESCO is introducing a major change to its store checkouts, despite many customers branding the move "awful". Tesco shoppers have slammed the supermarket for its plans to remove the number of staffed checkouts available in some of its stores. The retailer wants to remove these with more self-checkouts, even though many customers have said they won’t be using them. | johnwise
13/8/2022 09:16 | Personally, I have not seen any of this so called cost of living crises, all the supermarkets I pop into are as full as ever (Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose, Aldi, Coop & Spar), many buying Tesco Finest. In any of these supermarkets I have not seen anybody hand back items to the cashier saying they can only afford so and so pounds. Just look at how many people are able to afford to go on holiday this summer. Most holidays in my 3 local travel agents are for well in excess of £1,000 per person, with many for over £2,000 per person. There are just as many cars on the road as there were in 2019, petrol stations are a full as ever even though petrol prices are circa 190p per litre. It is so easy for the media outlets to find the poorest areas in the UK, then they make out the narrative that this is what is going on in the UK in general, when it is not the case. All this rather reminds me of a few years ago when the media outlets in the UK were saying day 21 of the big freeze and roads covered with snow. All the pictures where coming from the highest road in England with all cameras pointing the same way. Germany's DW panned their camera round 90 decrees to show just 50yds after the road started to slope down the road had no snow on it, panned a further 90 degrees (total of 180 degrees) 50yds on the other side of the road the ground no longer had any snow on it. | loganair
13/8/2022 00:17 | With the estimated price rises which are being forecast I would imagine at least 50 per cent of households are either going to default on their payments or struggle big time which will mean going without essentials. This is a national crisis and has the potential of being bigger than the pandemic so unless our government gets to grips with it soon I can foresee huge consequences for them come the next election... 'It's impossible, they're hiking my direct debit by 88%': Fury at energy giants for putting up monthly charges by HUNDREDS of pounds without warning - amid prediction price cap will hit £5,200 next year | johnwise
12/8/2022 08:56 | "We see the debt, we see people crying because they can't afford to bury their loved one who has passed away." Not surprising given how bloody expensive it is. And getting a plot at a cemetry seems to be nigh impossible these days given all those Black headstones with gold writing on them all over the place taking up much of said cemetry. | geckotheglorious
11/8/2022 21:10 | 'People will die': Burnley plumber who fixes boilers for free issues cost of living crisis warning He said: "I go into homes every single day, we see the empty cupboards and empty fridges. "We see the debt, we see people crying because they can't afford to bury their loved one who has passed away." Video | johnwise |
