Office workers will now be able to use their local Tesco to work from as the supermarket group launches a new partnership with IWG.

Tesco has said the flexible workspace business will convert excess space at its supermarket stores into office space designed for hybrid working.

It comes amid the continued shift away from traditional city centre offices which was accelerated by the pandemic.

Not another 'mad' chairman!

He should keep his public views just to the company.

He must be getting near to having to stand down in any case.

That's a terrible idea why don't we just privatise every business and all the profit goes to the government and we all get the same salary regardless of what we do. That way we are all the same.... It's called communism and it doesn't work

Helen, not sure about that. Yesterday they bought back circa 6% of the days turn over.

I think it is just that the market looks on Tesco currently as a port in a storm.

But backs seem to have decoupled tesco from the ftse index. It rose1.5% when the ftse dropped 2.3%.

"You wouldn't believe it if you were in my local M&S - packed full of shoppers with full trolleys"

M&S shoppers tend to be a tad wealtheri than most supermarket shoppers(alongside Waitrose)

But even they will feel the Inflation surge at some point.

Think it'sbad now, wait until next year(Q2/Q3) when this years harvest/fertilisers havent materialised!

Yes, I just meant the date, so I suppose its at the start of the new tax year.
For some reason I've got the increase occurring in July, but I think I got that from the date of the pension commitees report release as thats the earliest date that they gave the info.

UK Shoppers Cut Back On Meat, Fish As Cost Of Living Crisis Bites

Last week official data found almost a quarter of Britons were struggling to pay their household bills

NielsenIQ's data also showed a 15.9% decline in sales on a value basis of beers, wines and spirits over the four week period year-on-year.

Echoing data from rival market researcher Kantar last week, Nielsen said discounters Aldi and Lidl led the market in terms of sales growth on a value basis, up 6.4% and 9.1% respectively.

Market leader Tesco was the only retailer of Britain's big four grocers to gain market share on a value basis.
