27/11/2018 13:57 | Ah.... "Amazon ‘eyes Asda and Sainsbury’s stores post-merger’ | philanderer
27/11/2018 10:42 | Crypto - Rebranding is called a CON job, just to be able to charge more money for the same product and therefore is completely immoral and dishonest. The pound hasn't really gone anywhere for the past 18 months and therefore the 20% increase in the prices have gone stright to the directors pockets as massive increases in their pay packets. | loganair
27/11/2018 10:00 | Not sure what has prompted this fall? Have bearish positions open which should expire for a full gain next month. | alphorn
27/11/2018 09:51 | Been using aldi in the last year as well as Tesco even with 10% discount aldi do have a few lines cheaper ,and what is disturbing is just how much busier it has become . | nathdani
27/11/2018 09:12 | A new low for 2018. | philanderer
27/11/2018 09:05 | Log- repackaging. It's calling branding. They could reduce the box size and charge the same price. Remember because of pompus Brexit fools, the pound falling has put up pricing of imported products by 20%. | cryptotrade
27/11/2018 09:03 | I suspect Tescos will make their stores more aligned to Waitrose. Then cheaper looking stuff, Jack's.I've shopped at Tescos, Sainsbury's etc but also have done my main shop at Lidl, Aldo for 15 years. What these two shops offer, also, Lidl is basic food which is enough. To suggest Tescos is cheaper is a lie. I was shopping at Lidl before the deluded middle-class , I'm middle class, thought an apple at Tescos was special and not the same as Lidl. The bottom line is this, if you want to budget temptations are limited in these small stores. People want to cut back, simple. | cryptotrade
25/11/2018 20:14 | @buywell - Who would have thought it? Nadeem Walayat would. He thinks TSCO is a zero. Too much debt in the business. On my chart the next week is critical. | mrtenpercent
22/11/2018 19:08 | 200p again ... who would have thought it ? | buywell3
22/11/2018 18:57 | Completely agree ! | coffeeinsider
22/11/2018 18:42 | I strongly dislike how Tesco are repackaging products in posher looking packaging with the same product then putting up the price by 15% to 20%. This is a real con job by Tesco's management. | loganair
22/11/2018 18:37 | Every little helps. | tradejunkie2
22/11/2018 17:24 | This is all getting very disappointing :-( | philanderer
22/11/2018 16:59 | My friend who has been a committed Lidl shopper for the last few years has now come back to Tesco, she spends around £80 a week and says that Tesco is proving to be a better place to shop for both variety and price. Just back from the local Tesco having spent between us just short of £100. | vaneric1
22/11/2018 14:18 | I've noticed how Tesco's have significantly raised their prices this year. My shop at the beginning of the year was around £34.50, buying exactly the same products, often with less amount in them this same shop now in the same Tesco is £40.20. | loganair
17/11/2018 16:07 | I have just been into my local Tesco. I noticed that they have repackaged there own brand of Bran Flakes into packaging that looks more posher and up market than their old packaging. I am disgusted to see that they have also increased the price by around 20%. | loganair
17/11/2018 09:59 | Tesco teams up with WWF to halve environmental impact of food shop | philanderer
16/11/2018 10:00 | Agree vaneric , I'm still holding everything. Some of my best decisions have been to do nothing ;-) | philanderer
16/11/2018 08:55 | Just people running for cover philander, they'll be back. | vaneric1

15/11/2018 16:04 | nathdani Yes, I think a lot of staff await payday and have no savings, so don't get beyond thinking about what to spend their money on when they get it. | yf23_1
15/11/2018 14:06 | 'UK retail sales hit by mild autumn' | philanderer
14/11/2018 15:23 | yf23 We were in at 1.50 as well I`m naffed off as sold them far too soon but a profit is a profit I suppose ,don`t work for them now (took ill health ret)but wife still suffers over the last 35 years have done very well out of saye`s would recommend to anyone but I am surprised the amount of staff that don`t do them, its a win win. | nathdani
14/11/2018 12:40 | There was never any childcare available when I was at that age, we had to depend on relatives and neighbours. As for SAYE that didn't exist either, saving was done by going to the bank and putting a few bob a week in a savings account and later whilst on National Service having it deducted directly from pay and put in the POSB (Post office savings bank) By doing that I was able to have enough tucked away for a deposit on my first house aged 21. | vaneric1 |
