14/10/2017 11:57 | ...sacked on direction from Tesco staff (back to the outsourcer) who said they had evidence of him stealing, which they did not.Tesco security fault (let's call it) cost him his job and local store management escalated through ignorance -to the point it's become national news. | manics
14/10/2017 11:45 | The guy was not employed directly by tesco. He was employed by a security company called TSS. They sacked him not Tesco. | filmster
14/10/2017 11:01 | The branch manager should be sacked, as a minimum. The protester has been outside the front of the store (on common ground) for months, but was ignored since they thought he'd melt away. It should have been clear that wouldn't be the case as the protest, through his very evident tenacity, continued week after week. Instead of ignoring him local management should have proactively de-escalated. They handled it wrongly, and they should pay a price imo. A primary destination Extra format store closed for 20 hours because senior management had their heads in the sand imo. | manics
13/10/2017 17:24 | Take it to a work tribunal; this is England not a banana republic | mercer95
13/10/2017 16:46 | Well I'm not so sure Mercer, if what he's claiming is correct I think maybe he should be praised for making a stand. Too many people stand back and take an unjustified kicking when someone makes accusations that prove to be untrue. Of course if he did in fact nick all this stuff then he should be put through the courts and jailed. | vaneric1

11/10/2017 17:34 | 'Booths teams up with Amazon to sell down South for the first time' Booths, the so-called "Waitrose of the North", has inked a deal with Amazon Fresh that will see the upmarket grocer's product become available for southern shoppers for the first time. The 170-year-old family-owned business has until now shirked expanding across the country. Earlier this year it decided to take its first steps out of the North West with a joint venture in Malaysia rather than attempt to crack the South. Booth's agreement with Amazon Fresh will mean that its range of ready meals, cheese and deli products will be available in the 302 postcodes across London, Surrey, Hampshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire that the online grocer now serves. Until now Booths has only catered to southern shoppers with its Christmas hamper deliveries, which are available for four days of the festive season. | philanderer
