The IoT is going to be absolutely humongous. Very soon almost everything we have personally that switches on and off will be capable of being controlled from our hand held devices that we loosely call mobile phones. The function of a phone as a phone is now a minute portion of what we use it for and will use it for. Each of the devices we control from our phone must have a degree of security to avoid being overruled by others. Imagine converting the domestic uses into the operation of all the businesses in the world. There will be trillions of devices in next to no time. Security is critical. And although there are more security systems than Keyscaler, I have still not seen anybody who has challenged and provided valid evidence the statement that only Keyscaler can be used across all aspects of IoT connectivity. This must be why Microsoft and others are partnering with DA. Add in FVR, INVMA and WYLD and the potential is mind blowing which is why we keep the faith here. The H1 results announcement is late. I am convinced this is because there is so much action going on behind the scenes, it is challenging to explain in a portfolio update without being misleading. Like everyone I want to know what is happening. However the information being made public plus the gems unearthed from internet dredging and analysis is so reassuring, I am slowly converting to the belief that the sum of all Tern's parts has the capability of the pounds not pence brigade reaching their goal. Time will tell.

A couple of comments worth considering on Linkedin.

Ian Banham ( of MIcrosoft Azure ) in August in reply to a post from Rosa about DA’s security suite for Azure.

- I’ve seen this in action. A very solid piece of work. Takes lots of the headaches out of the security side of device management. -

To which Rosa replied

- Thanks for the validation Ian. Excited to be working with you and your team. -

Good lord it is laughable.

DA revenue less than that of a successful pub.

However the pub market is billions.

And I am part of it.

Whooppeeeee.....

PS

I handed the keys over yesterday to the new tenant.

In view of the significant announcement today by DA, & the clear position of the company in relation to Microsoft.

The size of the mkt now becomes the relevant piece of information.

If we were selling fish & chips the share price of Tern would be higher, but the facts of the mkt make the valuation of the company ludicrous.

Moreover, Microsoft also entered the IoT device landscape recently, with the introduction of Azure Sphere. The market for these IoT solutions is ever growing, as indicated by estimations of research firm International Data Corporation, or IDC for short. Specifically, their assessments show that the spend on IoT hardware and software, currently around 726 billion dollars, will grow to 1.1 trillion dollars in 2023. Using Azure Security Center for IoT (ASC), Microsoft aims to monitor and manage security on all aspects of these solutions, as described by James E Gaskin, author, speaker, and consultant.

It's in black & white the mkt size, not billions but Trillions,& DA, is at the heart of it all.

AT&T and its channel are marching in a “continuum” toward 5G in the meantime. AT&T has launched its mmWave 5G wave network in parts of 21 major U.S. cities and has been running trials with business customers to see how specific industries can benefit from 5G.

5G will ultimately impact how all businesses participate in the economy, according to Marx. She said increased spectrum efficiency, faster speeds and lower latency will lead to “massive IoT growth.” And most of that growth will occur in the business world.

Enter channel partners.

“Companies will need more and more partners that can understand their needs and customize solutions,” she said. “We’re in a winning situation because the solution providers have the relationships and understand their customers. They have the resources and skills that our customers are really needing.”

The Global IoT Middleware Market is expected to grow from US$ +5 Billion in 2019 to US$ +18 Billion by 2028, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of +22% during the forecast period.

IoT Middleware are sought when areas of a business’s operations are governed by complex laws and multifarious regulatory agencies, and when risk is present. Internet of Things (IoT) has become a necessity today. Various communication platforms are being introduced into the market; one of them is IoT middleware. It is a software used as an interface between the components of IoT. It helps establish communication between IoT components. Components, hardware, and machines can be connected to the IoT network with the help of IoT middleware by establishing communication between IoT middleware and the machine program.

Extract from from a new DA white paper (was in pdf, now converted, by me, to MS-Word)

'How to Choose a Security Solution for the Internet of Things'

Element#4: Implements Solution that is Device and Workflow Agnostic

Security solutions will be most effective when they are device and work-flow agnostic: They work with any type of device; they are a functional add-on to any data work-flow.
The Internet of Things is a huge opportunity that is in its infancy. As it matures, manufacturers will modify devices, and the flow of data, associated with services will inevitably change to accommodate new opportunities and an enhanced understanding of customer needs. The most effective security solutions will consider these unpredictable, but inevitable, changes irrelevant.
Internet of Things manufacturers and service providers want security solutions that simply work. When these solutions are limited to specific devices, or interfere with data work-flows, significant problems will be inevitable.

KK, the numbers are exceptional. Of more importance is that 70% of the attendees were solutions architects as opposed to senior leaders. These are the guys who are building out client solutions. Impressive for a company that doesn't even appear as a partner of DA.A similar pattern of attendance was evident from Wipro and Tech Mahindra prior to them being officially named as partners. On the basis of my research I expect to see HCL, Tata and Accenture named partners very soon. Deloitte, Hitachi Consulting, and possibly DXC Technology might also come on board. Certainly seeing some interest there. As I've said previously. The big SI's will be revenue accelerators. They will run multiple enterprise grade projects in parallel.
