The market for these IoT solutions is ever growing, as indicated by estimations of research firm International Data Corporation, or IDC for short. Specifically, their assessments show that the spend on IoT hardware and software, currently around 726 billion dollars, will grow to 1.1 trillion dollars in 2023. Financially, Intel is a slower-growth business with roots in the global PC business. To this day, it remains subject to the fits and starts of the global economic cycle. Revenue is up just 5.5% annually over the five years dating back to 2015, while cash flow from operations has improved 6.4% annually over the same period. Yet those figures belie how much revenue and free cash flow Intel generates on an annual basis — usually over $50 billion and $10 billion, respectively.

Competitively, Intel has the brand and resources to deliver IoT solutions at scale. According to its website, Intel has 15 wafer fabrication facilities around the globe, including four in the United States. These "fabs," as they're called, is where Intel manufactures thousands of IoT-ready chips from in-house designs.

While the Internet of Things is still a modest portion of Intel's overall business, it's growing quickly. Operating profit from the Internet of Things Group shot up 50.7% in 2018 on a 9% increase in segment revenue. That's serious leverage Intel can continue to exploit in the years to come. In the meantime, a historically generous dividend yield — usually above 2% — makes buying to hold for the long term all the more rewarding.

Quite unbelievable you can still currently buy under 10p but I really believe today or tomorrow will be the last chance.

50p would seem cheap but 10p is just ludicrous!!

Nevertheless,we all harbour ideas on a price level, which, if achieved, would make the whole process of holding TERN shares whilst enduring the unending stream of insidious posts very worthwhile and uplifting.

No need though to expose ourselves to subsequent ridicule by advertising our targets.

Even so,I would regard a price of 17.5p, anytime before 2020, as a modest step in the right direction.

Indeed onsideman… I think the last one was when it was in the mid teens and folks were predicting a return to 20p plus.... it only went down. We need to remember the poor performance of the board when it comes to their attitude towards informing the market of developments and their inability to get a placing away wihout doing the sort of harm to the share price that only those who forgo sleep can dream of.. Very sporadic and ultimately lacking.
