Fewer shares only means higher share price if there are insufficient shares to meet buyer demand at any given price...

SP has retreated to strong support at 1100 from 1300p since they implemented the share buyback. Fewer shares usually means higher share price ..........?

Price fall on such low volume seems excessive does one not think?

Current strength suggests some sort of deal is in the offing.

Hession, I don't know if you wrote this or it is pasted from somewhere else. For the sake of accuracy, Wigoder didn't start TEP but climbed aboard at an early stage when he saw the potential for reinvesting some of his sale proceeds from Peoples' Phone.
I share the view that the cash was retained for a specific purpose.

Telecom Plus started 20 years ago from a disused pub in Henley upon Thames with Charles Wigoder at the helm. Within 10 years it made the FTSE 250 and he continues to develop the business as Exec Chairman, having brought Andrew Lindsey onboard as CEO some years ago.

IMO the company is exceedingly well run and I am confident that the remaining £50m or so will be wisely deployed to enhance shareholder value and protect the livelihoods of staff and the network of distributors.

With a yield of over 4% this is a share to hold in your SIPP for the long term.

Its been trading in a tight range since the drop.imo the company are in a similar or better position now than when the share price was over £13. Will there be any broker updates in July and will there be anything new from the AGM.

Yes the early reaction has not been good, I guess some were buying in here expecting cash to be returned to shareholders & now moving on elsewhere? Long term hold here for me but very frustrating after such a long wait to get back up to £13 mark, now back at £11 again. Let's hope they use that extra money wisely with some brilliant acquisitions!!GLACM

There's possibly a case to be made against the directors here - for the damage they have needlessly done to the company's valuation.

Sadly, the way this Tender offer has been managed seems to be destroying rather than increasing value as it should. At least when all the dust has settled, P/E should be decreased and cash for future dividends increase because of the reduced number of shares in issue - I live (optimistically!)in hope!

'I hate these tenders'. How many like this have you come across before ali?!
With negative momentum in the share price , the 'offer' appears to be a way to guarantee further share price losses.
The whole thing is a bit gimmicky - like needlessly offering light bulbs to people who don't necessarily want them.
