Yep, this company should be making a fortune. Its In a massively growing sector, best product in the sector but still the S/P is massively down from its IPO. Complete flop at the moment.

Yep. In the same situation. Thinking to sign up for an energy share advice subscription. This whole area is going to keep shifting as technology and approach changes.

What are people's thoughts here? I'm a holder and was lucky enough to have got in at ~45p. We briefly touched 80p and then have been drifting since. I want to hear news of significant contract wins here. I'm still sat on a healthy profit but it's gradually being eroded.

Nothing. If a profit is there to be taken and they wish to cash in their chips, that is up to them.

They did buy mostly at the bottom looking at the date of TR1, what's wrong with them cashing in a return?

I would not be surprised. There is no point in them hanging on, if TGP do not figure in their investment strategy.

I see that Harwood Capital-for whom I have high respect-reduced their holding in December from 6pc to 1,8pc.
It will be interesting to see if they sell out completely next week.

From LinkedIn company promo activity today:

Tekmar Energy has secured two new contracts to supply VBR strings (Vertebrae Bend Restrictors) for subsea projects in India and Australia.

One of the VBR strings will connect to an ROV-activated J-Tube Seal that was supplied by sister company Subsea Innovation earlier this year, further demonstrating Tekmar Group's complementary range of subsea technologies.

The project will be delivered from Tekmar Energy's North East of England manufacturing facility in Q2 2021.

From LinkedIn company promo activity yesterday:

Tekmar Energy is readying it’s manufacturing facilities in the North East of England to commence production of Generation 10 cable protection systems (CPS) in early 2021.

Since their launch in 2007 and 2013 respectively, we’ve delivered over 8,800 TekLink® and TekTube® systems which are installed on over 90 offshore wind projects worldwide, protecting over 30GW of subsea infrastructure.

We are excited to be bringing together the latest advancements of these systems which are now cross-compatible and highly configurable in order to meet future project demands, including bigger turbines, larger cables, new climatic conditions, latest installation techniques, and utilizing improved cable data.

Does the market know something we do not know? Maybe bad news in the wings? These sharp drops lately are disturbing.

Traders departing maybe. Someone is buying the shares though. Quite a period of redistribution of shares going on. Could be new PIs coming in at these levels, also some institutions are still adding. Need some news to stimulate new buyers.

Needs some news about contract wins I think. The drop off from 79 has been rapid. Equally the rise from low 40s to 79 was more rapid!

Shall we have a go at trying to capture the major institutional holders given recent changes, from the header. The top 4 are latest positions, how much certainty do we have around the others?

Sellers very much in the majority so far today.

The company does not seem to inspire much confidence with their results not that long ago.The question is can they turn it round?

Yeah, I agree. Moving into net debt & retaining stubbornly high receivables even as revenue in Tekmar Energy halved in 21H1 compared to 20H2 is particularly ominous. I doubt they would have got a going concern statement without the CBILS loan either, and eventually this has to be repaid.

Appointing a new broker, a very promotional H1 results announcement masking terrible revenue trends, CEO leaving suddenly, Downing joining the share register - all these point one way.

The good news is they might get it away at c.50p. After the trading statement, I feared they would be looking at a sub-20p raise, whereas their recent promotional activities have at least kept the price at an elevated level prior to the raise.

On my side, now I cannot help looking at the story as a mixed bag.
I have always been a top-down investor and love the company's exposure to OW. I don't even mind their exposure to O&G as it comes from a low base.
But since the IPO the story always revolved around having a large competitive moat on their key product. By now, the importance of that product in total revenues is lower and the competitive environment is more fierce. Even if you believe in management when they say that Generation 10 will have the same gross margin, the reduction in ASP might result in lower revenue growth than many expect and cause many investors to question the equity story.
I also thought that the announced cost cuts were underwhelming.
Being a project business will not go away either and there will continue to be question marks about CF generation - and even about the BS availability to do more M&A without raising money.
Finally, frankly, I miss the former CEO's dynamic style.
On the other hand, this would be a very interesting asset for larger companies, such as Subsea 7 or Trelleborg. Hopefully current shareholders can one day enjoy a nice exit through a takeover.
