09/10/2020 15:22 | I have taken a small position today and will then see what happens after the trading update. Must be a seller around with all these buys going through. | the shuffle man
09/10/2020 15:21 | The business is all but debt free with around £60m on balance sheet! If this was a takeover it would be a bargain purchase, so can't see any reason to wait. The oil and gas might be down, but the renewables are picking up as a market much faster in the medium outlook. | 1tommyt
09/10/2020 14:52 | Watching here, but not in as yet. My big concern is that H1 will be very poor. TGP themselves say that Oil & Gas has "stalled" for the foreseeable - which is after all around 20% of the business - and that group revenues will be "heavily weighted" to H2. Plus there's the delays in demand from China and the overall effect of the global pandemic in the whole of the period. The gamble is to invest now and risk an MM markdown and sellers on a poor H1 trading statement, or wait until afterwards with more specific knowledge and lose a little upside if all is relatively well. I can absolutely see the attractions here, but will wait on the sidelines. Unless anyone wants to persuade me otherwise or I've missed something! | rivaldo
09/10/2020 13:25 | okay im in, not a fortune but 7k worth. seem to be all buys ATM. | stevieweebie2

08/10/2020 17:26 | Holy mackerel.They have gone up! At long last! | imperial3
08/10/2020 14:01 | I managed to find 3k, so added here again. Once this overhang is cleared this will have a rise big time. 9 out of 10 trades are buys at the moment. The seller must be desperate, to sell these at this level , especially with all the future protenial. | igoe104
08/10/2020 13:23 | Massive spread Just bought in though Let’s hope this overhang clears and it takes off soon! | gswredland
08/10/2020 12:08 | Must be a large overhang of stock with all the buys and share price not moving | leedslad001
07/10/2020 22:55 | hmm - think I'll top up tomorrow. I thought they were seriously undervalued before this initiative.... I don't think the CEO issue is a negative at all, just a part of the company growing up and being too boring for a high-flying youngster! There's clearly a fair bit of stock in the market - either an ongoing seller or a MM who's taken a chunk and is knocking them out. That often makes for a good time to buy, although it can mean a bit of a wait while the overhang is cleared. Tuesday's buying should have made serious inroads into that though. I'm a long term investor. I can wait! | hiddendepths
07/10/2020 19:07 | Floating wind is a lot more expensive for cabling, so it should be better for Tekmar revenue and its group companies in the longer run. I remember a sales guy telling me they already do lots within floating wind on the design side. | 1tommyt
07/10/2020 15:23 | Well, I hope I get a Teklink to that. | thomshrike
07/10/2020 14:05 | Another point here. Johnson's statement spoke of further developing floating wind pylons. Common sense suggests these ought to be cheaper to instal once the engineering is perfected. This news item from two months ago tells us we won't be left behind! @ thomshrike - the conference. You'll be Zooming I prezoom? | jonwig
07/10/2020 13:44 | - I agree. Don't forget that when Tekmar came to the market with Teklink some years ago there was already a large installed base of OW farms, fitted with early generation technology. Those are aging and in many cases need to be revamped. Although lumpy, this should be a good market for Tekmar. - It's also good that we are seeing a flow of new orders just ahead of the company's attendance of the Berenberg conference next week. Makes it increasing likely that investors get a positive message. | thomshrike
07/10/2020 12:32 | tommy - #471. Tek said (at last year's AGM) that they do a good bit of remedial work, often on botched installations. So that might be even more positive than it looks! | jonwig
07/10/2020 12:07 | The future is bright,but the share price fails to get excited.So disappointing. | imperial3
07/10/2020 11:48 | Not sure if they are promoting these in the right way. Can they not RNS more as would get more investor focus. | 1tommyt
07/10/2020 11:46 | More good news on social media ...Tekmar Energy has been chosen as the trusted supplier for a remedial campaign on a major offshore wind farm located in the Sylt Offshore Cluster of the German North Sea. Tekmar Energy will supply the patented TekLink cable protection systems (CPS) directly to the developer for installation this year. The CPS has been designed to specifically address and overcome key and unexpected as-built conditions faced on the project during the operational phase. This scope of supply further demonstrates the confidence clients have in Tekmar Energy as a market-leading solutions provider. The CPS will be produced within Tekmar Energy's UK facility and will utilize the latest design developments. To date, Tekmar Energy has supplied in excess of 8,750 CPS on over 90 offshore wind projects.#offshorewi | 1tommyt
06/10/2020 16:38 | Jonwig, if alot of worldwide governments follow suit of the UK. Tgp will be a very lucrative business | igoe104
06/10/2020 15:49 | There has been quite a bit of buying today. It is a pity and frustrating that the share price has not moved accordingly. | imperial3
06/10/2020 07:02 | From The Times (extracts): Boris Johnson pledges wind power will run every home in Britain by 2030 Boris Johnson is to announce £160 million of investment in ports and factories as he pledges that offshore wind will produce enough electricity to power every home in a decade. Britain has 10 gigawatts of offshore wind power capacity built and operational at present, with the target now for 40 gigawatts by 2030. Analysts have suggested that reaching the target would require £50 billion of capital investment and the completion of a turbine every weekday throughout the decade. Plans for a new offshore grid to link windfarms to interconnectors were outlined last week. The claim that offshore wind would power every home in the UK by 2030 is thought to be based on the average output over a year. The prime minister says: “We will invest £160 million in ports and factories across the country to manufacture the next generation of turbines. And we will not only build fixed arrays in the sea, we will build windmills that float on the sea — enough to deliver 1 gigawatt of energy by 2030, 15 times as much as the rest of the world put together.” | jonwig |
