Past is the past - The future situation those companies are being put in is what really counts.

RDW tomorrow then...

Considering the impossible situation that the uk government are putting all companies in at the moment ,the results were brilliant

I suspect this comment in the Barratt results is hindering their SP:

"Based On Current Market Conditions, We Expect To Grow Volume Towards Lower End Of Our Medium Term Target Range In Fy20"

WFL- you can't beat oil based! Allowing for last years & this years divided my shares are only down 10-15p in real terms so not worth worrying about & as you know i am here for the long term but each to our own, If it works why change it.

Jug,
No tax implications with my holding - it was all within an ISA.

1 carus, to little land available to build on so I don't see land prices falling Recession or not.

House prices matter not other than the price of entry or loss on investment property. For the normal house holder everything just moves up or down together. House prices are heavily dependent on land cost. A correction would force down land costs and help promote more affordable small building schemes. If the house builders have bought land relatively cheaply, they would have little to worry about. Land bank would be cheaper going forward for them too.

m4rtinu - you think that's a good idea then take a look at Venezuela which is McDonnel's model

Sounds like some good ideas there. Would give a real choice at any election. A bit similar to what Thatcher did, including possible negative equity. Housing for some has become an investment not a place to live. Investments can go up or down. And would certainly help more youngsters who would like to buy.

m4rtinu profits slipped first half due to bringing forward investment in new sites, Full year profits expected to be in line with expectations, I wouldn't take to much notice of what the market believes Tw as with all shares down now entirely due to Brexit. That said Tw have always maintained that the special dividend would be cylical & to be fair I am surprised its lasted as long as next year, But as I have covered my initial investment many times over in the last few years with dividends taken as shares It will be no hard ship if the dividends are to be lower in the future, Nothing lasts for ever & perhaps may even make the shares less volatile, As for the Mail & any other news paper None are very good on predictions.
