Borrowed from the BDEV site.

RICS house price balance well ahead of expectations:

RICS House Price Balance
Actual: 22%
Cons.: 16%
Previous: 19% Revised from 17%

The RICS Housing Price Balance released by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors presents housing costs in the UK. It shows the strength of the UK housing market, which can be considered as the economy as a whole, as the housing market is sensitive to the business cycle. A high reading is seen as positive (or bullish) for the GBP, while a low reading is seen as negative (or bearish).

Housebuilders could be hit by a massive drop in the number of new homes built in the UK, a new report suggests.

The National Housing Federation (NHF) said the number of new affordable homes built this year could slump by 65%.

Funding cuts and changes to the planning system could see as few as 20,390 homes built, the group said.
