29/11/2016 20:00 | Thanks - new to trading. Always welcome learning. | rikaughty
29/11/2016 19:18 | rikaughty - you are misinformed. Normal trading stops at 16:30 and there is a 5 minute closing auction (where bids prices may be higher than offer prices) at a random time shortly after 16:35 the auction is terminated and the uncrossing trade "UT" becomes the closing price. It happens on EVERY stock. In certain circumstances there can be an extension to the auction (5 or 10 minutes if trading is volatile in the final part of the day). Also noted there is an opening auction 07:50-08:00 and a 2 minute auction at midday. The opening auction will be extended by 5 minutes if the calculated opening prices is greater than 5% different to the previous day's close. | ![]() enami
29/11/2016 18:43 | Interestingly the substantialpurchase was made at 1635 and was mirrored in BWY, BVS, RDW, BKG, PSN, BDEV and TPK (and probably others I don't follow). Huge investment when combined. Someone knows something. | rikaughty

29/11/2016 12:31 | jugears ... from a mortgage rate perspective it doesn't really matter the BoE raise rates or not, since bond markets are already doing the work for them repricing the ten year gilt to reflect inflation expectations, which in turn is already lifting the cost of mortgage financing | raffles the gentleman thug
29/11/2016 09:03 | Terminated I very much doubt Interest rates will be above 2% in the next 10 years, Sadly the government/Bank of England panicked in the financial crisis Dropped interests rates far to low & now we are all used to cheap borrowing, Any rise now could bring the country to a grinding holt, the government are well aware of this & therfore I think they will find it very difficult to even start raising them in the next 2 years, There are no real inflation worries as these have been caused by brexit & not consumer spending habbits. | ![]() jugears
25/11/2016 15:42 | It's areas in our region that limit sales, I was keen to buy another house recently until I found out it was in Bradford, excellent price and the interior looked good but!!!!! I guess that's why the price was so attractive. | ![]() gbh2
25/11/2016 15:32 | It seems to me the only thing that could derail house building is high interest rates but that seems many years off. | ![]() terminated

18/11/2016 15:20 | Steeple - it is rarely the statistics that lie. It is the selective use of them by commentators/politic PS: Household goods? Housebuilders? | ![]() m4rtinu
18/11/2016 13:44 | If you look at how TW. Has performed over the last six months,it's been a notable laggard performing in line with the likes of Mcarthy & Stone near the bottom of the table with a fall of over 21%.Compared to other Household Goods sector constituents like Bellway in particular, this is pretty inexplicable (it has underperformed Bellway by a high teens percentage over the last half year).Statistics and damned lies perhaps, but it's odd and unlikely to be an enduring trend. | ![]() steeplejack
17/11/2016 17:32 | All I will say is read any of tslobs2 posts and do plenty of your own research. Based on other posts on other threads he is IMHO clearly sponsored by a third party to ramp and deramp on several BB's. Be warned lads and lasses. QP | ![]() quepassa
16/11/2016 14:38 | Zho - thanks for posting. My selective quote from it: 'Nor is Redfern fixated with private homes. “A fair housing market also needs both a healthy private rented sector and a supportive social housing sector,” says the report. It’s hard to disagree. For the past 30 years, governments’ obsession with home ownership has deprived local authorities of the funds to build affordable properties for rent. The first step towards sanity must be support for all types of tenure.' Excellent suggestion in my view. And if it affects future profits of builders, then so be it. Better for country at large. My guess though, is that there would be some carrot for housebuilders. Some kind of PFI II? Last one was too expensive from public sector point of view. (I have a small number of TW shares.) | ![]() m4rtinu
