TW. should get a boost off the back of BDEV results tomorrow IMO.

I sold 50% of my holding yesterday / today, will buy back if the share price falls but quite happy to hold the other 50% until we see 120p :))

Aspers, I tried the same thing on a couple of stocks, and briefly on the FTSE after the fall the other week...it's tough, and the excitement can be addictive...Too difficult though! I might hedge my longs with a short via a SB if things take a general down turn again, but anything else...nah! If it was that easy.......! ;)

Looks like TW is getting a nice little sympathy shag off the back of good BVS results today.

Well thats it, not going to try and trade this again, once again sold at 102.8 and had to buy back at 104.5........i keep telling myself to just stick with it.....bought in originally at 75p with a target of 140p. Looks like that target could be achieved a lot sooner than hoped for. :-) good luck to all that hold.....just picked up another £10k of CRST as I can see 500p there before not too long. :-)

Well if the buildings are short of materials why don't they ask "the shorters" for supplies, no doubt plenty of them are "bricking it" right now.

petersinthemarket , "and a bit of luck". That's the problem. Why gamble on timing when hold is pretty much a certainty right now? Far more likely to get timing wrong and miss out imo.

Investors can profit from further rises in the Footsie by picking up growth stocks such as house builders, including Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey, and Barratt Developments, said John Baker, a portfolio manager within the JP Morgan European Equity Group. sunday times

Just a suggestion - Buy and Hold may not be the better strategy right now. The mkt is fluctuating on any good/bad news and this sector is no different. Buy and Sell might be better with a bit of timimg care and a bit of luck. There have been 10% swings on TW in recent months and some traders could certainly make money out of that. My attempts at timing have been far from perfect so I have simply top sliced for now and may add again later, perhaps as we approach Sept report.
FWIW all my extra cash has gone into THT in the expectation of good results in the Q4 TU 15 July. Fingers crossed.

baracuda 2 as aspers has said in previous message the brick shortage is due to the demand from the builders, if you question what i said why dont you go to any major building site and ask the site agent what his call off on bricks are he will tell you its approx 6 months i want this share price to rocket nothing would make me happier.

baracuda 2....the comments about bricks were not to cause concern, quite the opposite, just to show how the builders are all going balls out....my short term target from March when I bought back in at 75p is 140p by next March. I think now we will exceed that target quite easily...its just a question of trying to time the sells and buys on the way up....my past record not too great on that score! :-(

Aspers i agree with you,but i think there's an opportunity to make some money on the pull back until results.
I wouldn't be the only one to do so.
Some will sell now, results could be priced in,"all's fair" and all that.
