I'm looking at the current trend in the light of an impending Update during what's supposedly a Good Period for the Builders, imo we should be seeing Traders pile in and the share price heading for a peak.

My son moved into a new Bellway home on Friday......the site foreman told me that they are only allowed to order a limited amount of building blocks each week as the manufactures cannot keep up with demand......he has been 30 years in the industry and NEVER seen such a boom in the building buisness :-)

its held up reasonably well, given that it did get ahead of itself.

not as well as lloyds though. its only a tad off its high!

I halved my holding at 100p but started rebuiling too soon at 95p!

Looking forward to a good update, but hope that the current down turn in market sentiment is over otherwise the Update may well be sold into.

I guess we can say for sure now that The Correction is here! My watchlist and portfolio look like a bloodbath. After 4 or 5 months when we all felt like stock picking experts, its comeuppance time. What to do now? Ride it out I suppose. The time to sell was a couple of weeks ago. Best of luck all.

I chatted informally to the md of a small privately owned building company over the weekend, he said that he had never seen us come out of a downturn so quickly. He said the sector was leaner and stronger than in many years. He cited lower cost land banks and rising prices and more Govt led initiatives that he believes will work, he was very positive for the sector. Every year the housing shortfall becomes larger. The builders only build what they can profitably sell nowadays, thats a big change from where we were 5 years ago.

Its part of their share purchase plan, they buy a few and the company matches their purchase with free shares.
