19/7/2011 12:24 | The UK population is projected to increase by 4.3 million by 2018. This increase is equivalent to an average annual rate of growth of 0.7 per cent. If past trends continue, the population will continue to grow, reaching 71.6 million by 2033. This is due to natural increase (more births than deaths) and because it is assumed there will be more immigrants than emigrants (a net inward flow of migrants). | sir rational
19/7/2011 12:23 | UK population set to increase to 65 million over the next ten years The United Kingdom population is projected to increase by 4.4 million to 65 million by 2016, according to new population projections released today by the Office for National Statistics. This increase is equivalent to an average annual rate of growth of 0.7 per cent over the period 2006 to 2016. | sir rational
19/7/2011 12:22 | Would trade if it looked fully valued - but we are far from that. So this is a great share to hold for the medium term now they have largely put their house in order ;-) Business going perfectly satisfactorily - population of UK increasing rather fast and forecast to grow more over the next 10 years - not enough housing stock being built. Zzzzzzzzzz! | sir rational

19/7/2011 12:13 | SR - I do have a concern that it's below (and closed below it yesterday) the 36p support. Now is not the time for a stockmarket crisis, which is what we might be about to get. As I said, I'm happy to sit it out now that the future of TW. is secure - just rather not see it at all. | imastu pidgitaswell
19/7/2011 12:08 | kfp - 19 Jul'11 - 08:37 - 9139 of 9146 Has the money been received ? I'm taking it that when they stated that the 'transaction has completed' and use of the past tense to describe the receipt of the proceeds, it means payment has taken place - contract law, consideration etc etc. No payment = no completion - I doubt they used a credit card... "Following the announcement of the conditional sale of our North American business on 31 March 2011 and the receipt of all required regulatory and governmental approvals, we are pleased to confirm that the transaction has been completed today. The total proceeds were US$1.2 billion" | imastu pidgitaswell
19/7/2011 12:07 | Dontcha just love short term holders with no view to a company's strategy or outlook - no taking into account of context - just a myopic view of daily movements in the SP? ;-) | sir rational
19/7/2011 12:04 | Because you own TW and not BDEV. | spennysimmo
19/7/2011 11:55 | I don't like this ,they should have performed with the market today. Perhaps it's the Rightmove report, IMO property is still 20% too expensive compared to the average UK wage. Barratts are up so why is TW down ? | kfp

19/7/2011 10:01 | eds the business, read your comment about cruises on another "busier" thread. I admire your sang-froid in not looking at the screens whilst on board. I've only done two cruises - first one cost me £5k for the cruise and £18k on my unwatched portfolio - second one last month cost me £6k for the cruise and £46k on the portfolio. Moral - take the I-Pad next time and ignore the wife. | erric
