TAYLOR Wimpey is expected to provide a further lift to confidence in the housebuilding sector tomorrow by flagging annual results towards the top end of City forecasts, helped by improved margins.

Analysts will also be looking for an update on plans to dispose of the company's North American operations.

Taylor Wimpey (TW.) gives investors an insight into the housing market on Tuesday. In its last update in November it said trading since the summer had been stable, despite the ongoing political and economic uncertainty.

Chris Millington, analyst at Numis, commented: "We expect Taylor Wimpey to report that results for the full year are likely to be towards the top end of analysts' forecasts driven mainly through improved margins. We will be looking for news on the disposal of the group's US housing business and the size of the currently unrecognised deferred tax assets the group proposes to recognise."

Millington added that will a new finance facility now secured and the potential to reduce debt through the US disposal, the FTSE 250-listed group is looking "increasingly attractive."

Taylor Wimpey TW. will be the latest housebuilder to offer an insight into the new housing market on Tuesday. Analysts expect the company confirm that results for the full year are towards the top end of forecasts, after bullish trading updates in November. News on any disposals within group's US housing business will be well received in the city, should they be announced.

Rationale: we already know profit will be at the high end of analysts' forecasts. The real news will be better than that.
