Builder plans 450 homes in Lakewood Ranch

Taylor Morrison Inc. plans to build Esplanade, a 450-home neighborhood north of State Road 70 on 195 acres.

Construction is expected to begin mid-year with sales beginning in the first quarter of 2012.

The development will include single-story, maintenance-free villas and single-family homes, said Taylor Morrison's Division President Steve Kempton.

The company's "Mediterranean-inspired" homes will range from 1,400 to 2,700 square feet.

There have been reports that British home builder Taylor Wimpey PLC is preparing to sell Taylor Morrison, its North American business that was formerly based in Lakewood Ranch but now in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The domestic unit is expected to fetch about $930 million.

London-based Taylor Wimpey is Britain's second-largest home builder, and is carrying about $1 billion in debt.

The Financial Times has reported that several of the largest home builders in the U.S. are interested in the deal.

It was always going to be tough to break the resistance level of 32 and most breakouts are false as we are experiencing. I would expect this previous resistance level to be tested as support at least once or twice before the rise continues. That takes patience.

Spenny maybe but I give more credence to the various Fibs and they could be anywhere 31-36 depending on where you see the starting point
