08/11/2010 10:25 | Housebuilder Bovis expects market conditions to remain challenging over the next few months but remains confident it can sell more homes in 2011. "Whilst there remains uncertainty concerning the near term direction of house prices, the fundamental demand and supply drivers of the housing market remain positive which should support volume and prices in the medium term," the group said in Monday's interim statement. | ![]() jibba_jabba

08/11/2010 09:00 | ROK admin is a damning verdict on the general 7rend of construction companies. Recently accounting failures had been addressed and would not material effect the company, out of the blue administration. The 7rend is down my friends. | 7rend7rader
07/11/2010 19:47 | Lastly, the UK's eight largest housebuilders are on the edge of a 'deleveraging cliff' of epic proportions. A year ago, ratings agency Fitch warned that £2.5 billion of these companies' debt matures in 2011, with a further £4.5 billion maturing in 2012. This greatly exceeds the £5.3 billion combined capitalisation of the seven companies in my table above. Therefore, given this refinancing risk -- and the impending withdrawal of liquidity support for lenders by the Bank of England from next April -- I would not be a buyer of any housebuilder for the foreseeable future. | defcon4
