I am not a fan of any news paper particularly the express but they are spot on when they say house prices will rise , imo due to low volumes being built now & lower volumes coming to the market, but 20% is on the low side IMEO

It is the Express, they are electioneering on behalf of the Tories. Trying to make the economy look rosy, when they know very well that it is not.

I think we'll continue to see housing market uncertainty.

As expected....

Halifax: UK house prices ‘plateauing’ due to rising mortgage rates

The annual spring bounce in UK house prices did not occur in April, according to Halifax. It blamed the Bank of England’s interest rate freeze for the inflation stagnation.

7 years on and we still plagued and having issues with Taylor Wimpy not getting the roads adopted by the local council, this is causing residents lots of stress and unnecessary cost when trying sell homes and in some cases are losing buyers. Taylor Wimpy you need to get this sorted out ASAP i think 8+ yrs is long enough to sort out this issue ‘

FREEHOLDERS will find that questions about estate management will be met with a standard copy and paste answer. That is if you are lucky enough to get a reply. It will start with something like;
IT IS NORMAL PRACTICE FOR A MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO BE APPOINTED TO MAINTAIN ESTATE OPEN SPACE ……..etc.
They save money by not having to pay S106 money to the local authorities and S104 money to Water boards.
Taylor Tosh it and Hop it Wimpey will sell on any landlord responsibilities to a financial investment company but will fail to inform estate residents. Why should they bother when Freeholders have no redress to organisations that can impose fines or sanctions on Taylor Tosh it & Hop it Wimpey.
Even an employee of Taylor Tosh it & Hop it Wimpey with a claimed BSc.hons . member of the Chartered something…..has bottled out of a face to face meeting to explain why their “standard “ Transfer Contract and sales method is misleading.
CHECK Land registry for restrictive covenant
Get your solicitor to ask why . (Including freeholders)
If any clause in the transfer document has the phrase IN PERPETUITY get it removed.
Finally DONOT trust Taylor Tosh it & Hop it Wimpey ‘

Kreeper, why buy a British company if can't make it pay the government have been supporting Wales steel industry for decades, has to stop sometime,
Lef I hate to say but can see your point, the bog problem is tha people become reliant on credit cars to survive because a good many people have no idea how to budget money.

Jugly, presumably the number of persons with both a mortgage and a credit card. Perhaps 25% of the population, ignore the ONS, the big supermarkets say there's over 80 million crammed onto the island, so that's circa 20 million then?

Used sensibly a CC is a useful tool, but you have to be able to pay off the card at the end of the month. The main benefit is that when using a card the vendor of a Good is selling to the Bank, and thus if there's a problem, the vendor has to face off with the Bank.

They can also be useful if one needs a lump of cash in obscure places. I have been able to obtain cash in the Azores and once in New Zealand when in need of $12,000 cash in a hurry. But I wouldn't countenance letting the debt sit for more than a couple of days, as cash accrues interest from day one.

There's also the benefit in this modern age of acquiring a positive credit history, as I have no other debts at all. So keeping a rolling £100 on the card will now cost me £30 a year to maintain a good credit history.
