A pattern is emerging though.
If the FTSE is up 1% or more TW holds steady.Anything less and TW tumbles.

As for the house price index - it would be a valid reason IF the share price had reacted to news that house prices were rising through late 2009 early 2010 in a opposite direction.

I've said it before and I'll say it again TW is completely in the grips of the hedge funds.Even the likes of deutsche can't be bothered with the battle any more.

No, it is the huge drop in house prices according to the HPI. The whole sector is down.

I got the impression that they felt last times refinancing was rushed due to necessity and the terms were harsh so they feel that they want better terms and are going to take their time.
I pointed out that the leverage they have has dropped significantly over the past couple of months from a company valued at 40p a share to 28p a share and that this can only strengthen the hand of the lending banks etc

Goodness knows what leverage they will have if the share price is 22p ish before they resolve it.

I got all the usual stuff about building a business,no point in taking short term action, all for the long game etc

Can't say I ended the conversation any more enthused and hopeful than when I started.

I don't see any major hurdle why they cant refinance on realistic terms as they have brought down debt..etc...

It was spot on thanks.

Spent about half an hour on the phone to the IR chap for TW yesterday on that very topic.

No would appear to be the answer. They have never said they were considering disposal[it was the media] and the price wouldn't be right in the current climate. The current priority is arranging the refinancing [I think that was one of the reasons for todays meeting]but they don't want to rush into anything.

Nice chap.

hello barf2 - how was your pork chop ?

TW. up a penny then down a penny (rounded off) I do wonder if TW. sell off TM ?
Time this share made some movement up, dramatic upward movement would be welcome.

Quick tip pen is the company (pennant International) and buying their own shares

Group has a number of excellent opportunities in the UK and abroad and is
very well placed as the potential supplier on two major contracts in the UK.
Defence spending in the UK is currently subject to a major review, however, your
Board remains optimistic of significant orders in the short to medium term
providing visibility of work running forward from 2011.

The Group is well placed to take advantage of these opportunities backed by an
excellent reputation, a strong balance sheet and a healthy cash position
