"benchmark" means all other to be measured by this. In other words UK Building sector to lead .Others will follow.

Weren't US housing starts higher than expectations but still low?

I won't comment on the imbalance between TW and the rest of the sector as I know it can annoy some.

However, that sort of imbalance often leads to a rerating to bring one of a sector back in line.No logic,no reasoning or explanation given but you often see in the financial press the next day '.......was recognised as being undervalued compared to its peers...........'etc

Well I think that will be us soon.[No, I can't define soon,I thought 'soon' was by spring 2010!]

Today was not a good day for TW. US Housing Starts data was lower than analyst expectations.

If this is the best it can do on a good day then we've no chance when the markets turns negative, as it most certainly will!

timescales? Its 5-10yrs imo, using previous downturns in property and mortgage restrictions of the early 90's...

I think that would depend on your time scales. If you are trading long day to day then I would agree.

whebn rates have to go up in the future the market will suffer yet more...it really is not the sector to be in imo.

At an all time low. Think logicially. If it as at an all time low, which way is it likely to go moving forwards. What happens then?

Britain stuck in a 'mortgage famine'

Britain is stuck in a 'mortgage famine' as latest figures show the number of loans approved for those buying a new home fell to a 16-month low.
