02/9/2020 11:26 | There you go as expected, confirmed by BDEV, demand increased due to Stamp Duty holiday and Help to Buy, both of which end within the next few months. "The increased activity levels are being stimulated by a combination of pent-up demand, the Stamp Duty holiday and an understanding that Help to Buy will only be available to first time buyers and regional home price caps will exist from April 2021." | ![]() sikhthetech
02/9/2020 10:40 | Closed off yesterday's buy. If VTY wants to go up another 80 pence it would be appreciated ). | ![]() essentialinvestor
02/9/2020 09:27 | I find them (the doommongers) quite useful, particularly the ones called farty or somesuch. He is on filter, but has a habit of appearing just at the troughs. He managed it yesterday, between 1.30 and 3.00pm - a contrarian buy signal if ever there was one. I quite look forward to his appearances. :-) | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
02/9/2020 09:20 | The facts don't lie unlike our resident doom mongers ...... ;-) House prices continued their post-lockdown recovery in August, notching up their highest monthly rise in more than 16 years, says the Nationwide. "House prices have now reversed the losses recorded in May and June and are at a new all-time high," said its chief economist, Robert Gardner. Prices rose by 2% last month, it said, taking the average price to £224,123. The Nationwide said the recovery in housing market activity had been "unexpectedly rapid". It said the increase in August was the highest since February 2004, when house prices rose by 2.7%. As a result, annual house price growth accelerated to 3.7%, from 1.5% in July. | ![]() tlobs2
02/9/2020 09:07 | stewart64, I know what the market is doing, manipulating Tw share price as per usual! | ![]() jugears
02/9/2020 08:47 | Indeed I think the Market is being the ultimate contrarian selling a company with no debt, making profit for the fun of it just now ( probably more than any other company in the FTSE 100 just now)in the middle of the biggest housing boom since 2003. I guess the Market knows what it is doing. | ![]() stewart64

02/9/2020 08:35 | BDEV reported this morning - "Although uncertainties remain, all of our sites are operational, we are seeing very strong consumer demand" etc etc "We have also seen a substantial increase in home completion volumes in the eight weeks to 23 August 2020, which were up 62.4% compared to the prior period" "The increased activity levels are being stimulated by a combination of pent-up demand, the Stamp Duty holiday and an understanding that Help to Buy will only be available to first time buyers and regional home price caps will exist from April 2021" Of course, BDEV operates in an entirely unrelated market to TW., doing completely different things and there should be no correlation between them whatsoever. Obviously... | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
02/9/2020 08:24 | LOL ,Its a shame that Tw updated so early IMO they were being very over cautious. | ![]() jugears

01/9/2020 20:47 | "In profit already!" Likes to tell everyone about his profit on the day.... Apparently! Though conveniently sweeps the 50% drop since February under one of those freshly laid new build carpets.... It could be associated with insanity... ;) | wfl1970
01/9/2020 18:33 | * first trading day of a new month, that should have read. I positioned too cautiously over the summer, thinking we would see some significant wider equity weakness which never came. | ![]() essentialinvestor
01/9/2020 18:14 | I would hardly call a 1p gain a decent profit!! We're in the last month for Q3 and next month will be entering the interesting qtr, where several uncertain events will play out. Furlough ends end of Oct and redundancy consultation should start 45 days beforehand, so next couple of weeks. | ![]() sikhthetech
01/9/2020 16:46 | zac, atm TW. underperforms on risk off days, that’s the pattern until it isn't. Also first day of new month so some volatility was to be expected. | ![]() essentialinvestor
01/9/2020 16:29 | Market makers manipulating the share price . . . a tree shake . . . utter nonsense! Isn't it simply a recognition of the likelihood of a worsening situation for the UK economy? | ![]() zac0_4

01/9/2020 15:40 | Wouldn't it be nice if it was that easy, eh. I'm 17% down on VTY atm and a equity raise there would not surprise me. Fortunately it's a small position or would be feeling rather ill at this point. | ![]() essentialinvestor
01/9/2020 15:33 | Jugears - you owe me some of that for giving you the idea... It's all a farce, manipulation, whatever you want to call it. But you can't stop it, and if you can't beat them... Also added right at the very bottom, and you can be sure I will have sold them (swing traded them) right at the very top of the next swing up - doesn't everyone manage that? :-) | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
01/9/2020 15:19 | A tree shake by the looks of it, shares being bought on the cheap. | ![]() martyn9
01/9/2020 15:14 | In profit already! Ess, any further shut downs will create an even bigger shortage of new homes, Less homes, higher prices, bigger profits, Think i will keep those shares I bought today. | ![]() jugears |
