Ess, & look those same house builders are still here like many old established companies, We all have our opinions, know one likes being told how to invest there money, My method has worked well for me I have only ever lost money on a couple of investments in nearly 40 years so really not worried now. I remember telling a young rep to invest in Next when they were 56 P & know one had ever heard of them let alone George Davis. Now one of my key suppliers in his own right he reminds mo of his regret at not buying them every time I speak to him. The world recovers just like companies just give it time & let your investments mature slowly rather than trying to make a quick buck.

Most here will have seen multiple recessions previously and I can't
remember one where HB's don't get hammered hard?.

This is a general sector comment.

JUG,

"This epidemic is short term so don't put off that purchase you were going to make do it now whilst prices are low, "

House prices are not low at the moment... Essential workers like nurses can't afford them so resort to renting...

If anything I think the current crisis is likely to focus the govn mind more on ensuring more affordable housing in the future..

I think the economic downturn will be severe. I think we'll see house prices drop around an avg of 30-40% over the next 2-3yrs. I was already expecting a house price crash due to Dubai and India being on a cliff edge, before Covid-19 and because more and more btl investors selling...

I think Covid-19 is a wake up call, it's not like previous downturns..

Yes I think most here are blinded

The world changed about a month ago.

You think if you buy on the dips your make money.

That’s because for the last decades it’s been correct .

You think if a share is off 50% it’s cheap.

I advise you step back

When the group of you posted your shares 3 weeks ago , on average you were down just 10%.

I recommend you all sell and take a tiny hit

The next update will I think show your down 25% plus

In six months it could be 80% plus

1 NHS,

Why even post such rubbish in this thread TW. when you are amongst traders that have experience?

Your using your experience, which is silly, since your were not around in 1919 flu epidemic, or the later wall st crash.

Alangriffbang,

5000 on the Ftse 100 is a close bottom, but if it breaches 4800 we could see 4400, but I'm personally calling 4400 the absolute bottom.

Well said tiobs 2 ,I am many thousands of pounds down but after 60 years investing I am certain that everything will get back to normal in the end ,and it’s only on paper ,the hardest thing we all have to find is when it’s found the bottom ,good luck and very good post ,

sr2day we get it.

Reading your posts on various boards you are on a downer and trying to spread your doom and gloom. You're probably on London Bridge right now contemplating your options....

If you can see any flower beds from your position on the bridge just look at those little green shoots rising up out of the ground.

The same will happen to the positive people in the UK and the miserable doom mongers will either crawl back under their stones or preferably leave the country.....

My gut feel is that TW will pay the 3.8p payable this mid May but will keep any intention to pay the dividend payment in early November under review. The special dividend will be cancelled. This is 'politic'as they say.Income funds will be only too keen to strip that forthcoming dividend that goes XD in early April because they'll be precious few dividends coming from elsewhere.Wall Street fell through a number of significant support levels on Friday. The S&P fell though 2350 and Wall Street through the emotionally significant 20,000.The UK could be in for a poor opening on Monday but my forecasting record hasn't been good of late.
