brando69 and mitzis: From Previous posts you will see I 'Called' bottoms (in early January ) for the FTSE of 3500 and DOW 7000 . The latter has fallen through 7000 and FTSE is now closing in on 3500. At that time some doubted my forecasts.

As for TATE I sold my entire holding for 417/18 on 23/12 since which it has fallen by 38%. Tate is a well run company and the share price will bounce when more positive sentiment returns . Unless you're long term investors ...I suggest that before you buy at current prices...ask yourself the question ..'What is going to drive the share price over the next month?' Just go back a couple of weeks on this BB and you'll see that some posters were surmising that 330p was a good re-entry price. Do you agree with that assessment NOW? The REAL problem is 'calling the bottom' and 'endeavouring to apply logic ' in a negative GENERAL trading environment. It will turn BUT wait for some positive upward trends is my advice TO MYSELF!

personally, i think we have quite strong support at this level - not saying any sniff of bad news won't take it lower - but it held 261 yesterday - that's saying sth

mitzis - agreed - and it doesn't rise or fall quite as fast as some within the day - not so hard on the ticker.

Listen its fallen from 340p to the present price in a few weeks its bound to rise 10/20% sooner than later.

Its a great traders share although lt 200p is a possibility.

watching lloy and the other banks today, assumed they were just falling in sympathy with hsbc initially - but while rbs recovered and almost finished blue, lloy finished at an intraday low. i had regarded 50p as technical and psychological support, but looks like that was blown at the close.

tate, jury still out... but it certainly feels like it's trying to find a level of support, more buyers than there were that's for sure, and certainly less big selling.

hello wendsworth - Hope you are doing ok. I am sure lloyds will come good in the end. I think no trade is the best trade for now, not sure about tate, interesting though that it did not fall much but in these markets! I would be very surprised if tate fell much below 220-230p area.

I am very glad I am not involved in this blood bath for a change, spending the cash i would have probably lost enjoying myself!

revoc2: Thanks for your sentiments. I did think about selling LLOY first thing last Friday but decided on leaving my holding as a long term investment. Ultimately I'm confident that I will yield significant returns on Lloyds.

The DOW is now DOWN > 200 points . There will be a 'bottom' but .......!!

Cannot see ANY reason for re-investing in TATE for the present.

if it closes over 265 today - amidst this bloodboth - i'd say it's a buy!

brando,
Without looking back I guess they had a sell rating on it from a higher level.
I suppose they are saying it is now fair value - but what do they know?

I would advise keeping shorts open to 150p cos I do believe that is where TATE is heading.

i thinks its fallen too far too fast, so maybe a lttle rise to 280p-290p level maybe?

revoc2,wormcatcher,harvester,brando69 and others: DOW futures is showing 150 points DOWN at the open which would be nearer to 6900 than my original forecast 'bottom' of 7000! Don't believe this is a time to buy.

the sell off is certainly slowing down... obviously a look at the long term chart makes for grim reading - but shorter term, i think, as i said before 260-262 level looks good for some kind of bounce

not insignificant director buy this week plus rsi almost at 20 plus a little bit of strength at end of play today... brave to call the bottom of course - not doing that, but i think we'll see a bit of a rise early next week...
