31/7/2014 16:50 | Topped up at 624.45p. Hope that knife has hit the floor !! | housemartin2
31/7/2014 14:19 | Just bought a few, not sure this is the low, however may be reasonable value near these levels longer term imv. | essentialinvestor
31/7/2014 09:45 | Even cheaper at 627 - added , rather pleased that the impending dividend payment stopped me setting a limit last night. | wad collector
30/7/2014 22:35 | Last week's IMS was for earnings broadly in line. The share price forecasts over the last month show the usual disparity of guesses , from 590 to 900 , but if their profit forecasts are anywhere near right , the prospective yield for next year will be well covered and still around 4.3%.Even if earnings fell from this yrs 58.8p per share to 50p , the yield would still be overed over 2X. (And even the pessimists don't go that low from my brief perousal) That looks healthy , at least to me, over that time period. So today's weakness tempts me further. 638p looks too cheap to me. I shall have some more tomorrow unless it bounces. | wad collector
30/7/2014 22:30 | dup ; too many beers! | wad collector
24/7/2014 18:02 | Cash generation is very strong, that IMV is the main reason to hold these. Dividend cover metrics look more than ok to me. However, if you look where 2015 forecasts were 1 year ago TATE has seen a major downward revision in growth, the share price has fallen to compensate for some of this. Is this the third consecutive update where they say some aspect of the business was weaker than expected? - it appears to be a trend. 2015 estimates may once again be revised following this update. | essentialinvestor
24/7/2014 15:55 | wad Longer term, positive cash flow is dependant on generating profits. You cannot get away from margin pressure and increased competition in certain markets. They do seem to find banana skins on a very regular basis. red | redartbmud
24/7/2014 15:48 | Funny how you can read the same statement and come to different conclusions depending on whether your initial view was positive or negative. I still see a stable profitable company that has reduced its debt .... | wad collector
24/7/2014 13:19 | Broadly inline gives a bit of wriggle room but seems fair and safe enough. Longer term changes in business still seem right and debt reduction is good.Moves to more speciality and high margin products takes time but cannot be faulted | ayl30
24/7/2014 08:43 | A takeover is one way of getting rid of poor management I suppose. | redartbmud
24/7/2014 08:29 | In fairness they have said broadly inline, the consensus on earnings was for - 10% before this statement. So you may be looking nearer - 15% and a pre tax below £290 Million, all just IMV only, see what the analysts say. The previous bid speculation and yield will provide some support. | essentialinvestor
24/7/2014 08:12 | Time for a new management team. | redartbmud
24/7/2014 08:10 | Yep. Sounds like a profits warning in all but name. | m.t.glass
24/7/2014 08:06 | Continues the run of weaker than expected trading conditions. | essentialinvestor
22/7/2014 22:36 | Welcome back. Looks a reasonable time to buy to me ; there is a lot of pessimism built into the share price of , frankly , a dependable company . Ask a sugar beet farmer who makes the profit . Apart from the supermarkets. | wad collector
22/7/2014 08:31 | Back aboard after a 2 year absence. Looking good I feel for 900p by the year end. | aspers
03/7/2014 11:46 | I have held Tate for some time now. Every time the share price improves they seem to find a banana skin. Is it bad luck or bad management? | redartbmud
03/7/2014 11:23 | July 24th is the IMS, current forecasts look on the high side to me given the level of the £. | essentialinvestor
03/7/2014 09:18 | Darren Sinden bullish on Tate & Lyle PLC live on TipTV. Watch here : | tiptv1
27/6/2014 21:22 | Its given the thumbs up by today's Investor's Chronicle in its tips section. It is rated as a contrarian buy. | scobak
25/6/2014 14:07 | wad, General Mills lower than expected earnings?. That cable exchange will also knock the pre tax, as detailed in the last report. Good chance TATE is taken out at some point, just IMV. | essentialinvestor
25/6/2014 11:40 | Xd 19.8p today but fallen 30p so far. Might pick up some more if it keeps falling on no obvious news. | wad collector
29/5/2014 10:22 | Glad I held for results, can see a slow climb back to the 750 region now. | salpara111
29/5/2014 10:20 | Full yr results seem to fit the" less bad than expected category ".They show a profitable company giving a well covered and progressive dividend policy in my book. Happy to hold. Shame they didn't quite reach my 650 buy limit earlier in the week but pleased to have picked up at 639 in Feb. Hold and forget. | wad collector
27/5/2014 10:31 | I see another buying opportunity coming. 650 will do me again. The bid chat appears to have been gabble , so it is back to fundamentals. Which , to my mind , still look attractive. Results out on Thursday which makes a fall today slightly concerning , but frankly it is all a gamble. | wad collector |
