Let's hope wider markets do not decide to go in to correction mode.

imv it needs to break 660p on the intra day chart to truly breakout and it's tried a few times now in recent days, i'd say 665/670 would be a reasonable move. Assuming it makes a clear break through this resitance barrier then i'd expect the recent gap to be closed upto somewhere between 740/780p.

Elder ray bull/bear power, stochastics, macd and rsi all look favourable. Just looking for average directional index to signal crossover and all the oscillators i follow will be in line.

aimho fwiw.

I see a big reasonablt diversified multinational company paying 4% yield covered more than 2X ,waiting to restart its slow upwards progress. Happy to await gradual progress.

Woodcutter - isn't it triple witching day today? that would explain similar trades in different shares.

The sooner the better for me, I raised cash last year in anticipation,
timing is always tough though.

agree mild correction possible but bear market is in the making just look at some of the ridiculous float prices. You're buying into the greater fool theory on some of the valuations aimho.

I would be very surprised if there was not a 10% plus correction sometime this year.
When the next bear market arrives could be up to 2 years away, 5 years plus
already so this is an aging bull.

I tend to follow the SP500/VIX relationship, (you can see a very good chart of this at barchart.com) as well as number of IPO's and float prices and obiously valuations of uk shares in general. And intermarket and sector relationships too. I'm also very interested in TA and like you i felt the correction would come late last year but if you read:

Sy Harding "beat the market the easy way"

he would suggest that it's more likely to come just after a presidential election so maybe 2017. As usual they promise everything leading up to the election, to get your vote, then claw it back afterwards. So i figure while no ones interested in many of them i'll start hoarding larger caps on the drop, particularly food producers, when the shock comes we've all still got to eat!.

His book gives some remarkable insight and analysis to market timing around these kind of events. I could beleive how accurate it was!

unfortunately i can't find a way to post the SP500/VIX chart here, damn advfn.

Interesting defensive positioning on your % cash, I expected a meaningful
correction late last year, got that wrong.

The UKX and MCX appear to be rolling over, or in the midst of a topping process.
The US markets remain rock solid, at least for now.

i just looked it's an AU trade so it was end of day auction. I don't fully understand this but i think it's the sum of all the matched orders during the day that weren't filled in the "normal" market manner. Basically it isn't likely to be a single seller or buyer for that matter, i guess that's why it's in the unknown column on the trades page.

The price has ended up on the day so it may well have been a series of buys.
This might help.

Interestingly enough the same has happened to DVO today too.

It's out of the UKX at close of business today, last of the FTSE100 tracker funds selling I assume.

I've been moving out of small caps, other than a few core holdings, and into mid and large caps with reasonable yields. The correction is coming, when who knows but it will come, so i'm taking a more cautious approach. I've bought quite a bit of TATE recently and also been buying SBRY on the drop and DVO too. I'm currently holding significanlty more cash than usual somewhere around 75%. I may be missing some decent yields but i won't get caught when things reverse.

I only began buying on the recent dips but i'm taking the longer term view despite the growth in companies like PURE which i don't hold incidentally. The PURE valuation is bonkers imv. but it's trendy in a bull market, wait 'til reality sets in. The sweeteners market is huge and i figure TATE are pretty well placed.

Buy on any weakness imv.

From a TA perspective it needs to break above 660p and hold to give confidence. The intraday candlestick patterns have been rather interesting over the last week, suggests it will go higher and break 660p. But as always with TA it can go wrong!

If there was further poor news then the share price gets hammered
as the City would completely lose patience.

I do not see that happening, imv only.

WC, the full year update has to be solid, that is absolutely key here.

At the very least there can be no further surprises, such as a further weakening
in sucralose pricing.

Added a few more on this morning's dip.
Yesterday's proposed acquisition appears to makes sense, got some good press today, although no financial details disclosed.

These smaller bolt on buys to bolster the SFI category are the way to go,
long may it continue.

Likely to head lower on any market sell off, unless Bright Foods come knocking
first or trading surprises to the upside, not counting on either personally.

In at £6.25, could easily go sub £6 on wider market weakness,
however that price looks reasonable enough imv.

Wider markets looking toppy to me, but who knows.

swings and roundabouts, ukx funds sell and mcx funds buy.

I've bought quite a few yesterday and today.

The TA suggests the selling is diminishing. Elder Ray bull/bear, sochastics, MACD and the candlestick patterns and potential support around this share price level too. But as always with TA it could be wrong.

The business has strong fundamentals too so i expect a recovery. If they can keep growing the higher margin speciality foods ingredients sector then this can only be seen as positive.

Directors buying at this level also provides some level of comfort.
