For those like me unaware of the history here this is a useful post. Like the prospect of 39p buy out multiplural - 17 Oct 2014 - 11:56:41 - 1219 of 2078 TANFIELD GROUP -- 2014 - TAN The value for Tanfield of the Smith shares at the price used in this latest round is around 5,6 pence per share without calculating any value on the warrants held. I feel pretty sure the value when listed on Nyse or Nasdaq will go up, and the warrants will then also carry a decent value. On top of this is the deal on Snorkel where a minimum value of 39p within the next three years will arise. Personally I think it will be before, and I can strongly recommend seeing this interview with Don Ahern where he mentions that it could be as early as this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-zC7MXK4NY

Somebody once said, describing a situation like this one, in a battle between bulls and bears the bears always win. I have since then come across many such situations and can say that in about 75% of the cases this statement has proven to be correct. To clarify, what one is looking out for is the situation of lots of buys and lots of sells and a price that doesn't move.

Orange1 lol, I guess the bias was sells as the share price was down almost 10% at one stage, large volumes, someone knows something? RNS must be imminent.

Not an expert on this, pretty new to the story but I would assume any new buyer is 'in the know' whilst any seller is either bored or a forced seller. Can only see good things coming from this going forward. I did mention it to a City friend of mine recently so if they join the shareholder register I'm taking the credit.

>gbenson Not so difficult: there is someone buying and there is someone happy to supply the shares.

JLG revenues down, hopefully due to everbody now buying Snorkel!

It wasn't a secret... Snorkel was bought as an add on to their existing Upright brand

I didn't know this. Tanfield bought Snorkel for $100m back in the day. hxxp://www.globalcapital.com/article/k5300cy0hsk9/tanfield-group-goes-on-road-for-115m-steico-gets-eu74m

Not really a volume of deals that would be significant enough for Ahern! Still, indicates a bit of interest which might indicate something.

Someone mopping up all the shares thrown at them at 13p today Exchange rate looks like it's now moving away from the lows, is adhern watching this and realising time is running out at favourable rates to him.

I'm surprised now that its taken this long, adhern either wants all of it or maybe considering selling snorkel and having a share out with tan, something gotta give soon.

Trump reflation trade looks a real thing? He had major Industry leaders in yesterday. Expect boom in US construction. Any hope for this now ?

I agree that we will see a try to take the Snorkel position at s value around book. Whether the large shareholders will accept is yet to be seen. But as the stock has performed, or rather underperformed, I guess many will accept and move on.

IMHO Ahern will take this out at circa 30p in the near future, Etc see what happens to exchange rates after the inauguration?

I am sure there are plenty of existing holders ready to come out at these levels. I agree however that selling in the market ( see the shares sold yesterday , 125k) bring the market value to even more depressed levels. Likewise buying substantial levels in the market will have the opposite effect.Time will tell.

Doubt it he would need to buy 30-40% of Tan shares and the price would sky rocket

Then we still own 49% of a great company, and can sell to anyone. But obviously there is only one buyer for this, and that is Ahern. Snorkel is the only company in his portfolio he doesn't own 100% yet.

Thank you for that explanation - I hope the board at Tanfield get them and do some due dilegence on our behalf. I like you have checked with a friend in the industry and it seems that the access industry is doing well as rental firms buy new kit on cycular basis and the kit bought after the recession is being replaced again. If Ahern doesn't buy the 49% 5 years after the sale - what happens then?
