15/5/2017 11:22 | I do find it rather worrying that for an investment of this size there is very little information for the investor to gauge its performance. | ![]() donemyhomework2

15/5/2017 10:32 | Multi hiThanks for that. The sales of 140m is in dollars not £ correct?Still want to see a profit and loss and balance sheet and find it most odd to only have selective comparisons in the results.Half year 2016 refer to increase in sales by 25% compared to first half 2015. Nothing else!!!!Surely they must have actual accounts ? | ![]() donemyhomework2
15/5/2017 10:04 | As I recall the only figures we have seen is a 120M turnover in 2015, and expectation of growth in 2016. From the info last year it sounded as if the turnover would approach 140-150 mill in 2016 and I expect that this is around the level needed for positive results. But it is unbelievable that a co owning 49% of Snorkel is not privvy to more details on the accounting ofSnorkel. Personally I believe we are in positive territory with Snorkel, and that might be just what Don Ahern have waited for. I guess he will make a move before the option expires in Sept 2018 as he would probably not have total control with the 49% after that. Even a low bid corresponding to the book value would double the price of Tanfield overnight. Should we hit the Ebitda levels mentioned in the option, which is probably unlikely, we would fetch some 45p per share in cash. | ![]() multiplural
15/5/2017 08:32 | Does anyone have any idea of what profits if any the new company is making? What is their EBITDA?The board refer to increased turnover from earlier years and once referred to some £130m for a break even?Have they disclosed amy figures the last 3 years? | ![]() donemyhomework2

19/4/2017 13:27 | Dave, very good find. Again this just confirms to me that Don Ahern will buy us out within short. I also saw very good figures coming out of Haulotte a couple of days ago. No doubt, the industry is booming. | ![]() multiplural
19/4/2017 13:12 | Have a look at this youtube video, can't be too bad Don Ahern Says Snorkel will manufacture about 8,000 machines this year! | dave224

17/4/2017 22:52 | Thanks multi, trouble is a double is no good here unless you are heavy into it which brings larger risk too, will watch the trades this week, the bid has been strong at 14p of late which is a good sign, Proxama where I have some funds could Double or ten fold quick easily if it gets news it needs which is making me consider my funds here, but prob best to keep money spread around a few stocks. | ![]() steveglobal4

13/4/2017 15:40 | steveglobal4 13 Apr '17 - 15:35 - 2169 of 2170 0 0 this is taking way too long now, very nervous and could easily lose a packet here, I'm really surprised, maybe not surprised this is tanfield and I've lost money like forever on it, any news anywhere. | ![]() the stigologist
13/4/2017 14:45 | As long as you dont lose your patience, I think you will be well revarded. This thing is a double from here easily within the rest of the period agreed with Ahern. I can't see him not buy this co when Snorkel is still growing nicely and probably is profitable by now. Patience is all you need here, but I understand that many don't have that patience , and in frustration just moves on. That is why some investors have been able to collect large sized positions way below value in tha last year or so. | ![]() multiplural

18/3/2017 16:01 | It's always worth thinking about the negative side of things for balance - what if they don't want to buy the remaining 49%? TAN would own 49% of Snorkel, and at the moment without detailed accounts, it's difficult to value that. Also, why is Richard Griffiths selling to you? Always worth thinking about what the person on the opposite side of the trade is thinking. I do hold some TAN, but like to think about both sides. | ![]() jamielein
18/3/2017 14:50 | I like the CEO from Snorkel's comments to the pics from ConExpo 2017: Matthew Elvin Well done to the team and a big thank you to our global customers who made it a massive success. I can't see how anyone could imagine Ahern not buying the remaining 49%. The co's are interlinked in all aspects, and it is only a question of time when we will get proceeds from the sale of Snorkel imo. | ![]() multiplural |
