Still undervalued in my opinion.

Bought bits recently when available.

Market cap 16m is pretty soft looking at land and property.

Pointless going back over all this the market will decide the price but in my opinion its too cheap

The share rally was always going to happen IMO as it was well overdone on the downside.I think that we are back to fair value given both the opportunities and risks, so I am holding.Hopefully I should be buying but I will spend my risk premium elsewhere.

The share price is up 30% in the last month and barely any comments.

Are we now looking forwards and expecting better times ahead?

David its a fundamentalists view point but I'm afraid I'm an idiolog and I don't think it'll ever happen in the UK, at least not in the useful manner I've witnessed in Spain or Italy where for example most 14 year olds would traditionally have owned a moped in the past. The UK is far to conservative in its ideals to allow people the freedom to scoot around unchecked in this manner and by the time it has introduced all the rules, regulations and georestrictions it can think of or feels it needs to in order to allow it, it's not going to be worth doing!

MRF...If we have lots of cycle lanes everywhere which is now becoming the norm in the UK and we have places for these scooters to be safely stored at stations and leisure venues etc then why should we not see them used as much as they are on the continent?

Anything that prevents short single person car journeys and keeps our emissions down has to be a positive change and Tandem should be positioned ready for the boom.

I've spent a few days in Barcelona this week and people are using electric scooters all over the place, they even drag them round the supermarkets and shops like a shopping trolley and scoot round the roads like cyclists in do in the Netherlands. I have to say I somehow cannot see the British putting up with this kind of free and easy behaviour and even if they are forced to accept it legally, it's going to be so highly regulated and restricted that no one is going to bother using this type of transport in a popular manner.

Davidosh. Low volumes so I would not get too excited.Think that it is just going some way to correcting what I believe was an overdone reaction to news.

Pure Electric has retail chains and a brand make enquiries on stores
Wednesday, 6 July 2022 Mark Sutton 0 Comments
Following on from the revelation that Pure Electric will refocus its energies into the electric scooter space and leave behind much of it physical store portfolio in the UK, the business has indicated that the retail estate is already peaking the interest of other electric bike retailers, as well as a similarly unnamed bike manufacturer.

Since CI.N broke the news on Monday night one common theme in the industry commentary has been offers to take on skilled staff affected by the closures, with retailers such as Velorution, Decathlon, South Downs Bikes and folding bike brand Brompton just some of those to make vacancies known to those reading via social channels. There are of course plenty more vacancies available within the vicinity of stores set for closure, some of which you can find here.

A Pure Electric spokesperson has since expanded upon our earlier story, confirming that there will unfortunately be redundancies, stating “we’ll be working through the process with our affected colleagues and looking at all options.”

Rumour of the CEO’s departure, however, are incorrect. Rebecca DeNiro, in place since the departure of Peter Kimberley, will now move to focus “on Pure’s upcoming NPD launches and global expansion, while supporting Founder Adam Norris in his move to becoming CEO.”

In pointing to what comes next for the retail portfolio, we learn that the opportunity to take on some of the leases is being explored by those looking to build upon their property portfolio and that’s not limited to retailers; a bike manufacturer has apparently also made enquiries.

“We’re in discussions with a number of other retailers about the prospect of them taking on some of our retail estate and colleagues. We’ll be working this forward over the coming days and will provide updates as and when we have solid news to share,” said the spokesperson.

So, has the timing of the Queen’s Speech confirmation that legal frameworks around electric scooters will change prompted the strategy shift?

“E-scooters have always been at the heart of the brand. We’re pleased to see the positive trajectory towards legalisation in the UK, although it’s not something that has specifically affected our recent choices. Covid looks to have been a big factor in the acceleration of the e-mobility category across the globe, with e-scooters being a major beneficiary,” we’re told.

The structure shift means that Pure will go all guns blazing on the electric scooter category globally. At this early stage in the market’s development the retailer and manufacturer has a strong claim to being among the market leaders. Currently the brand is seen in France, Spain, Belgium and the UK, but plans exist to add markets and grab share with own-label product, something which has seen heavy investment in recent times and which, according to the business, is seen as a prospective and profitable way to progress.

Direct to consumer sales will drive this with additional third-party partnerships seeded into retailers in active markets. France, for example, already has a significant, country-wide footprint of stockists thanks to over 180 points of distribution through partnerships with FNAC and Darty.

Though no names have been declared, there is a trend in the bicycle industry for brands to open own-label retail stores, either by acquiring existing retailers, or by securing prime retail locations in key shopping districts. Trek, Specialized and PON are currently rapidly expanding their owned portfolios in the USA and there are signs that the behaviour is increasing in Europe.

Totally irrelevant to any investment case unless you want to see the company liquidated and the assets sold and the money raised returned to the shareholders?

Wait for the after summer profit warning when they have to confess to further poor trading.

When the CEO was fired this was the best short on the market.

CT you are ignoring the elephant in the room which is their end customer is a discretionary purchaser of bikes, golf equipment, garden furniture etc. and those buyers have disappeared. It is getting a lot worse before it gets better.

F me I went past a normal petrol station yesterday at 199p a litre

Does that not apply to
Every pub in the country
Every restaurant in the country
Every Holiday company
Every take away joint
and so the list goes on.

How about not running a second car because of what you have said re fuel prices.....people may look at the electric bike option or scooter to get to work or to the station.

There has certainly been a slow down as reflected in HFD and DFS for example.

However the world will not end. Life will go on.

Pick on FEVERTREE a company on a crazy valuation if you want to see a target.
Will people just have a litre of schwep tonic instead?

Tandem will exploit the current weakness and possibly get some cheap companies bought.

All current Tandem bikes come in boxed & assembled;apart from having to put on front wheel, handlebar assembly & seat post to make packing easier. The last model to have some UK input was the Dawes Galaxy touring bike which was discontinued for 2021 model year due to falling demand. The only UK makers/assemblers of bikes are at the top end of the market.Brompton,Pashley,Moulton,Ribble etc.

tiger: Do the bikes arrive in the UK ready to go out to customers or do TND add any value in the UK?
"Lead times are 12-18 months for cycles". So TND have already ordered stock for the next 12-18 months?
"higher stock levels than we would like against a backdrop of overstocked customers" When did TND start to reduce orders or are they committed to even more stock over the next 12 months.
If they have the money and the space to work through the overstock without the need to discount then it is not to big an issue. If ex factory prices continue to rise then it is even a positive.
