There should be some good news on pension deficit at some point - this from Norcross recently The net position relating to our UK defined benefit pension scheme (as calculated under IAS 19R) has improved to a surplus position of ?19.6m at 31 March 2022 from a deficit of ?18.3m at 31 March 2021, primarily as a result of an increase in the discount rate driven by market factors."

I bought this one and for my wife

Getting enough power to do a 50/60m trip using power on hilly parts or heading into a strong wind.

I got a bit of discount as well.

Well I know a couple who haves sold their second car into a very strong used car market and bought an e-bike with the profit. Added a basket and now do the local shopping trips with it. Huge savings on fuel and insurance etc and healthier too

I bought today (and yesterday). Even factoring in a lot of cr*p associated with e bikes, cost of living crisis etc., I still come around £32m / 590pps.

My two pennyworth on e-bikes FWIW. I would say that e-bike users have a different mentality to road bikers/mountain bikers/young cyclists. They use the bike to increase their mobility, enable a longer journey or perhaps to do their shopping. There will be more accidents as the number of e-bikers increase but the proportion of accidents on an e-bike might be less than amongst motor bikers and scooters.

The acceleration of an E-bike is much greater than a peddled bicycle. However I don't think that has any pertinence to the investment case for Tandem which is dominated by macro considerations. E-bikes could be one thing that (marginally IMO) counteracts the squeezed consumer, and any E-bike mile must be more environmentally friendly than a car or motorbike mile.

E-bikes are no different or more dangerous than standard bikes except they give extra power and assistance when needed if pedal power is lacking. In real terms the number of accidents involving e-bikes is bound to increase if more people buy and use them...just pure numbers on the road will drive that if you pardon the pun !

If e-scooters are properly regulated and allowed to travel down cycle lanes of which we have thousands in London then there really should not be a problem.

Cars are far more dangerous and road accidents happen every few minutes in the UK so a push for e-bikes and e-scooters and e-mobility generally makes sense and I want Tandem at the forefront of that and suspect that Peter has the same view judging by his background.

He's an e-scooter man is he? tsk tsk tsk:

Data obtained by the Major Trauma Group from ambulance trusts in England, Wales and Northern Ireland also showed that 713 e-scooter related accidents were attended by NHS ambulance vehicles during 2021, up from 392 the year before. The data also reveals that the number of patients being referred to A&E after e-scooter accidents increased by 40% between 2020 and 2021, with 173 patients being taken to their local A&E during 2021.

Charo.....what direct proof do you have or just rubbishing him on little evidence?

Anyway the good news is that all shareholders as opposed to anonymous onlookers will be able to meet Peter Kimberley next week as he will be at Mello2022 on the Tandem stand and no doubt telling us about how he sees his new role.

As posted previously....

Just to let you all know that Tandem will have a stand and about ten different products on display at Mello2022.....probably half the attendees are the perfect target market for e-bikes.

Mello2022, our annual flagship two day smaller growth company event will be returning to the popular Clayton Conference Centre in Chiswick, London W4 on Wednesday 25th May and Thursday 26th May.

Just to let shareholders and prospective investors know that Tandem will be among the 60+ LSE Small Cap and AIM listed companies attending. There will also be keynote speakers such as Lord John Lee, Andy Brough, Leon Boros, Clarke Carlisle and Gervais Williams.

1 day tickets are £115 and 2 day tickets are £189. However they are available at half price to shareholders so to obtain 50% off just use code MMTADVFN50.

For more information, please visit the event webpage:

I agree with you.
I also feel this shows that Jim moving was a strategic move possibly linked to this change /or one being forced by a big holder.
Why they could not thank him i just don`t know.
