I also made it 22 million.

Dave444, If I buy 100 shares from you, is that to say 200 shares have been traded because you sold 100 and I bought 100?

One other bit of information. I have just totted up the volume for this last 4 day week and it reached around 44 million, which is staggering. So for people worried about the placing shares, well with that sort of volume, they should be cleared very quickly!

Morning all. So I have been thinking about the possible date for finishing the trial. From the limited information we have wrt to the pace of recruitment and the fact that there are now at least 5 sites recruiting, I have amended when I think the trial will be completed. I think the last patient will begin dosing before the end of April which means the trial will complete around the 12th of May. Therefore, I would expect the headline results to be out around the 18th May. I stress this won't be all the data because some will take longer to pull together such as the blood and sputum biomarkers.

Of course I could be completely wrong but this is my best guess and you should DYOR.

At least. Especially in terms of future potential. No Government in the world wants to go through this again. EVERYTHING that has been shown to help will be stockpiled

Good find Imjustdandy:

________

Other therapeutic approaches to modulate the body’s immune response

Interferon-β analogues

Interferons are proteins that stimulate the immune system to attack pathogens and other foreign cells (such as cancer cells). One class of interferons (called interferon-β) is of particular interest for treating COVID-19 since it activates cells that can engulf viruses. There are 11 trials of interferon drugs ongoing internationally.

In the UK:

Researchers at the University of Southampton and Synairgen are testing an inhaled interferon-β drug (in development for asthma) in COVID-19 patients in several NHS Trusts.

Previous research shows that the drugs can protect cells from other coronaviruses (MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV).

From Professor Stephen Holgate

In order to translate these findings into the clinic we first showed that inhaled IFN-1a could activate the airway anti-viral pathways in asthma. We have now completed a successful Phase 2 clinical trial showing that inhaled recombinant human IFN-1a given at the start of a common cold in patients with severe asthma could fully restore protection against viral-related exacerbations as well as reduce viral shedding (hxxp://www.synairgen.com/).

Surely its got to work against Covid as well.

Over £800k of delayed buys from yesterday just printed, third consecutive day of big buying.

Someone is hoovering up all the cheap shares and I suspect will launch the takeover very close to the trial results.
