This is encouraging;

"An experimental trial of recombinant human interferon alpha nasal drops to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 in medical staff in an epidemic area"

Conclusion In this investigator-initiated open-label study, we observed that rhIFN-α nasal drops can effectively prevent COVID-19 in treated medical personnel. Our results also indicate that rhIFN-α nasal drops have potential promise for protecting susceptible healthy people during the coronavirus pandemic.

No, it was far higher at 360p

_______

The successful completion of the Phase II study (SG016) would imply a rNPV of as much as c.£475m or a c.360p target price suggesting a c.£360m (240p) uplift on the current estimated NPV.

This update was 3 weeks ago so we might have some feedback on the patients next week

The first patient has been dosed at the initial trial site (University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust). Synairgen has initiated a further six trial sites which are expected to start dosing in the coming days.

Richard Marsden, CEO of Synairgen, commented: "We are delighted to get this trial underway with the dosing of the first patient. The team has worked tirelessly and intensively with the relevant authorities and collaborators to get to this stage, and we now look forward to recruiting more patients and completing the trial as soon as possible. A successful outcome from this trial in COVID-19 patients would be a very important step towards a major breakthrough in the fight against this coronavirus pandemic."

talk2dubya,

You may be right, but I think the co. has its eye also on securing its P2 development in COPD and asthma sectors, hence the purposes outlined in the Placing.
Fingers crossed, they may well have a ‘winner’ in treating COVID-19, but if not, as finnCap estimate, the share price should hold up around 40-50p as well as giving them some cash in the bank.
Anyway, we now have a new band of investors at 60p-ish who will probably see it to some sort of conclusion.

KoP - no conflict there. Was rushed IMO. Anyway where we are we are, at least the placing rumours are not going to be an issue on any rise.

I think most of the free carry shares have probably been dumped by now, we might even see this rip higher going in to close.

Disappointed not to see any TR-1 motivations. Either they are late, the shares have been issued below the notifiable threshold or they have been issued to someone who is outside UK jurisdiction for declaration purposes.

Wetdream: They should have never have placed that many conditional shares in the first place at such a deep discount.

Imho the conditional placing’s been reasonably well managed so far, given that you’ve got several million shares in the hands of short-termers, happy to sell at c.70% profit currently.
Round number support at 60p close of play today would be a result and provide a good base for any +ve news next week.
Just gotta sit tight.
