Looking at buying in here. Everything seems to stack up and lots of positivity (even from health professionals!).

Does anyone know where the competition is at? Is the main focus speed to market (whoever gets the green light first)? Or could there be various forms of a cure?

So, it looks that it does not only relieve the symptoms improving the overall lung function but it strengthens the immuno system at deeper level, ie building a more permanent defence against the little invisible m.f.

Some more weekend reading to keep you occupied. This paper shows the importance of interferon beta (and alpha) for fighting off respiratory infections. Clearly the point is that if you give interferon beta into the lungs of these patients, you should improve the immune response.

Yes in my opinion all the anti IL6s are essentially the same. There is at least one anti IL6 receptor antibody and one anti IL6 cytokine antibody already on the market so there is no advantage for any additional one despite what the CEO said in that interview.

There are people here 2010, far more clued up than me, who would take issue with you regarding the efficacy of the TILS product.

Twice now TILS has spiked and quickly re-traced. I'd take Nobby's opinion over that of your goodself.

Good one on SNG - all covid stocks making moves.

TILS is also looking good (heading to £2-3) , their treatment/ drug has already shown Covid-19 cure capability (and approved by china fda, and shown to work in napels) and they have now got the patent out so they can start testing. Very easy to admininster and human ready - where as Roche drug treatment was used on mouse so cuases some complications when used in humans. TILS now has £10M cash, and ready for major moves ahead.

To answer your questions

Who knows? Certainly not me.

but hopefully the treatment will be of benefit to all of the situations you make the questions about if it does help the bodies natural immune system kick in and fight infection.

so, most of the ppl with this virus

that get sick enough to need connecting to a mechanical lung in intensive care

will suffer permanant lung damage during this sickness process & probably have future visits to hospital with lung problems ??

only the old ?
only ppl with damaged lungs due to smoking ,?
or 'healthy' 30-50 year olds as well ?!

The German figs declared are not like with like. If someone dies in Germany and is tested Covid-19 +ve but also has another disease/illness their death wont be counted in the Covid-19 deaths. In the UK and most other countries it would! The main reason why their death rate is reported as so much lower

At the tail end of the placing document the company referred to ‘early data’ (frommthe delayed COPD trial)...

‘Early data from this double-blind, placebo-controlled trial have demonstrated that the antiviral responses in the lung (assessed using sputum biomarkers) are similar to those observed in the asthma trial, where we saw clinical benefit in lung function.’

Perhaps such ‘early data’ will be available to the company from the COVID-19 trial?

Thank you.
I find all this hopeful and cheering as there is asthma, hayfever(not to be sniffed at- forgive the pun) and COPD, in the family with out the element of being an investor!

Further to my post earlier, I have found a more detailed document of the results from the asthma trial. The statistically significant improvements were seen in very small groups of patients. Yes this was a posthoc analysis but it is in a group of patients which will have a similar profile to the Covid 19 patients, in other words very poor lung function. I have to say this is more encouraging than I remembered and does increase my expectation of a good result.

All IMHO and DYOR

Edit. I see this data was actually at the bottom of the RNS. Doh! Impressive data nevertheless....

It might also explain some of the background and reasons for what we are witnessing.

Seems our friends at Southampton Uni are at the forefront of understanding the way treatments can work. Let's hope this understanding has been gleaned at least in part due to the effectiveness of the treatment Synairgen is trialling.

The crazy thing is that the UK is the only country with a NATIONAL Health Service and so should have been in the BEST position to respond effectively.

How sad that we have failed because the NHS is not properly connected due to the ludicrous imposition of market mechanisms and the fact that as a nation we have not been prepared to adequately fund the medics - too much of the resource has been sucked up by managers who merely manage rather than make good things happen.

Humphhhh

The so-called day it's due to the antigen testing carried out by Germany, S Korea et al. Patients without symptoms wereAlso tested and many found to be carrying the virus so properly quarantined. They also locked-down sooner whilst our clown gov allowed 3,000+ Athletico Madrid fans to descend upon Liverpool (some via London, Leeds etc too) as well as Cheltenham etc. We had the warning but with No clear vision/strategy reacted to events as they unfolded.Oh and The Telegraph is as much a Tory mouth-piece as The Sun.

Well the German healthcare system is very good....but I am very surprised there is such a massive difference. Of course they have tested more people so they may be behind the curve in terms of the overall course of the virus and more deaths will follow. I guess also that the result of more tests is that people who know they are positive are less likely to infect other people.

So probably a variety of reasons for the discrepancy in the numbers.....
