has anyone any thoughts or reasoning why the likes of Italy , Spain , Uk and France have a much higher percentage of deaths associated to the virus than other countries .

something doesn't look right to me , either countries aren't using the same reporting methods or some have a much more efficient care package in place than others

eg Germany 122k cases 2700 deaths
France 125k cases 13000 deaths

That daily telegraph headline is so misleading. Well thats the way I took it (maybe Im paranoid)

the article actually highlights the proactiveness of doctors, who initially are ventilating appropriately when faced with a patient with very low oxygen levels, but they are now reassessing their strategy given their growing experience in this cohort of patients.

Yes lots of perfectly good anti IL-6 drugs on the market already.

phil, NO

SNG promotes If-b (Interferon is a good compund)
TILS blocks IL6(IL6 is an internal poison produced by severe infections, and makes things worse)

thats putting it simply
BTW, TILS is way behind all the existing producers of anti-IL6 (suspiciously full of hot air rather than substance, imho)

I suspect that we’ll see plenty of headlines like the one spammed by hatetrader1(but don’t click it) which got coverage on the BBC this am.
‘Our vaccine’s almost certain to work....’
Perhaps lucky we’re not in that space.

I'm just winding you up. It's bad form isn't it?Anyway, I have shares in both (more over there) but will be rolling up here next week.Enjoy the weather today if you're able to. An interesting week next week for many PLCs working against this virus (in also in AVTR but nominal).

If this rises a decent % on Tuesday and NCYT hasn't got crazy again get your money in there as short term there's even higher gains over there and then buy back here in a couple of weeks and get more bang for your buck.

And also a reminder that SNG are not a one trick pony. They have a share of another very promising drug which has completed phase I trials in fibrosis and has been licensed to Pharmaxis. A deal could come from this program at any time and SNG will receive 17% of any upfront payment and ongoing milestones.

Morning all. I thought I would give you a bit of reading for the long weekend. Below I paste four RNSs showing that the drug is safe and works in activating cells and improving lung function. In totality these results are very encouraging and probably explain why the company is exuding confidence.

Of course no investment advice intended and DYOR.

Same information on SNG001 but from another source:

SNG001 is inhaled with a nebuliser, which helps deliver drugs to the lungs.

Scientists believe it will prevent the coronavirus from taking over lung cells to replicate. This would prevent patients deteriorating until the point they need ventilation to survive.

Viruses, including coronaviruses, can evolve the ability to suppresses IFN-beta production in the body, thereby helping the virus evade.

Southampton researchers are conducting a Phase II SNG001 trial on COVID-19 patients to see if it could prevent worsening symptoms in those most at risk.

The trial, led by Professor Tom Wilkinson at University Hospital Southampton, will involve 100 patients at Southampton and up to ten other NHS hospitals. It started recruiting mid-March.

Those patients will receive the best current COVID19 care, whilst inhaling either a placebo or SNG001 for 14 days.

Doesn't seem to be too well written as mixed up information when reading it, but at least more PR for SNG. Let's hope that the trials are positive!

Nobby - Thank you for your previous feedback to my last question. You may also be interested in this piece:

Just a general note.

We know the inhaled route for interferon seems to be the best route,it will then enter the blood stream as well.

If so this could become a vaccine, linked with other drugs.

Just musing.

Was nice to not even give this a thought until the wife turned coronation street on.

I think the next month is going to be a real test of faith. I've been lucky enough to have made a decent profit already but gotta let it ride out or I'd never forgive myself.

Looking at SNG but already in ODX and NCYT. one thing I can say is Nobbygnome knows his pharma stocks. I wish I'd followed his advice in the past.
