fillspectre. Dont know where you got that impression from. You mentioned Brexit and Covid and I said the opposite that they had not been relevent to SCE general business except maybe the impact on exchange rate from Brexit could have helped as it made UK more competative.
Covid might delay automakers decisions but providing things continue to improve we should soon get back to where we were.

AMT - was trying to suggest that both Brexit and Covid have been disruptive, unsettling periods. Now time to move on to more settled times when normal business planning and activity can take place. I do think though UK has been traditionally strong at quality manufacturing despite a lack of political support. I think some of the supply chain issues revealed during Covid has made some politicians re-evaluate its importance to the Country. Fils

He was Knownowt. ST also recommend the use of Pagid brake pads with their disks: one of TMDs racing brands.

Possibly but I dont see any connection with Covid and Brexit in the case of TWD and SCE except the big fall in the pound since Brexit announced may have helped but this is starting to reverse due to early vaccine rollout and EU trade deal.

Good read across for ST to TMD Friction though. Hints at increased global demand for friction products. An automotive component supplier investing in its supply chain capability in the UK post-Brexit post-Covid. News just in - Trackwise Designs (TWD) acquisition of 3rd new manufacturing site - another UK automotive supplier (not just automotive - aerospace & medical). Could the UK be strengthening its global position as an automotive component manufacturer or manufacturing base in general? Covid, the Suez canal blockage and the automotive chip shortage - all reasons for a global strategic rethink. I've got my fingers crossed. Fils

No I haven't Swiss. I assume the demand is for conventional brake pads. Their website does mention they developed carbon ceramic brake pads for the Bugatti Veyron back in 2000.

Japanese-owned brake pad manufacturer TMD Friction is investing £2 million and creating new jobs at its Hartlepool factory to meet record global demand.

Anyone ever come across them?

Wait until end of Dec '21 and make the same assessment gripfit. We are only just about to exit month 4 of 2021. A lot of road left ahead of us. Fils

I think it is going to be this quiet until September. Best to remind yourself of the long term growth story and relax. There are still lots of things for the OEMs to shake out as normal service is resumed. Nobody is quite back to an even keel just yet. Fils

Agreed. Inactivity weighs heavy on this share price Having such a big spread really doesn't help either in my view

Richard Gledhill - one of ST's biggest supporters. I'm following him in his trek to base camp - we haven't even rounded the corner yet to be met with our first glimpse of the sheer face of the real mountain itself. Fils

The transfer into a tax free shelter is a vote of confidence that the gains to date are seen as only the foothills of a mountain yet to be climbed. The "sale" of shares to effect the transfer will carry a hefty CGT tax bill unless offset by other allowances so is itself another sign that RG considers paying now will be much cheaper than paying later.

Agreed bones - I don't think I've ever seen such a large transfer of shares into ISAs and SIPPs from directors! Almost £280,000's worth is pretty significant:

Directors shifting shares into ISA and SIPP. Encouraging behaviour as this amplifies the expectation of gains in a tax free environment by those closest to the action.

The penny finally dropping? "Bunny hugging" now equates to jobs, prosperity and growth. All hail the rise of the electric car strongly promoted by a US government amongst others? Can only help some of the disruptor OEMs who potentially may turbocharge ST's revenue growth plan. Fils

Spreading the name around might well be counterproductive. You don't need to know it anyway but it's obvious as there aren't that many to choose from. The board are not actors and, as I said before, if you look at their last couple of presentations they are very clearly super pleased with themselves and brimming with confidence. They should be, they done well!
