10/1/2023 21:54 | With the share price closing above the 50 and 200 DMA, this should bring to the attention of momentum investors out there | johndoe23
10/1/2023 21:09 | Seemed like the drop in divvy, and the revision to FY expectations, was the catalyst for the drop, along with general sentiment across UK small caps. I believe the cut in dividend to favour reinvestment into the business was the right course of action. I'm enjoying seeing the business develop and grow and I hope to be holding for a long time to come. Looking forward to the next update. | actscap
10/1/2023 21:03 | I'm hoping for a beat at the FY results given today's optimistic statement. Completely agree re. Under promise and over deliver but suspect Suzanne wouldn't have given it the thumbs up if they weren't reasonably confident they'll meet expectations. I'm not concerned if margins remain flat in the short term, given how supreme are progressing. It's still in the growth and scaling up stage so revenue growth and volume should be the main focus area right now. It's worth citing Likewise, which is also growing v quickly. Investors seem to be happy trading limited profit growth in return for rapid scaling of operations and revenues. Whey prices should revert to long term trends and with lighting bouncing back a bit we shouldn't see any further falls in margins. | actscap
10/1/2023 13:04 | "The Group's Lighting division is showing ongoing signs of recovery, reaffirming the temporary nature of the slowdown within the category and across the market. Elsewhere, the Group's Battery division produced another consistent performance"This is very encouraging as this is why the share price dropped off a cliff in the first place - vaping growth a given - lots of tailwinds there, cost of living crisis likely to see more people switching from cigarettes to vape a strong one you'd presume ? | danb45
10/1/2023 12:22 | For me the statement was mildly positive. Seems to ignore administrative costs which had jumped quite a lot at the interims. Anyway, happy to hold. | topvest
10/1/2023 10:12 | They cut the payout from 50% to 25% of profits in Nov, so unfortunately the yield will drop this year. Still more than you get in most banks however. ED are forecasting 4.7p for FY23 I have a bit of mixed feelings about this mornings statement. Obviously a positive that they are not suffering declining sales, but feel its a bit misleading to say its a strong quarter but profits are only going to be inline - perhaps they will issue a beat when it comes to full year. Under promising and over delivering is the way to go, anything that falls short of expectations is always walloped. | dr biotech
10/1/2023 08:21 | Anything close to a penny increase in the dividend this year would convert to a 6%+ yield even with the share price rise at opening this morning | quazie12

10/1/2023 08:01 | Supreme PLC reports that trading in the three months up to 31 December 2022 was significantly ahead year-on-year, with revenue and gross profit up 30%YoY. As a result, the Group is “well placed” to meet market expectations - which were raised in November - for the year to 31 March 2023. Following strong Interim results (ED report 29th November 2022 H1 23 results buoyed by strong performance from Vaping) we raised our FY23 revenue outlook by 7% from £129.5m to £138.3m, and raised our FY23 EBITDA (adj.) outlook by 6% to £18.5m. As the Trading Update indicates, Supreme has maintained the momentum of H1 performance adding confidence to our raised estimates for the current year; for FY24, we maintain the revenue forecast which was raised by 6% from £142.2m to £150.5m at the Interim. Our Fair Value remains 190p/share. | edmonda

09/1/2023 13:28 | Thanks for sharing. Again, confirms that UK gov definitely looking at vaping as a means to achieving a smoke free 2030. | actscap
09/1/2023 13:25 | Fortunately Waitrose aren't a consumer segment Supreme go after. Also, they are getting beat up in the supermarket wars. Their share of the grocery market is now down below 5% (4.7% down from 5.1% a year earlier). B&Ms, Lidl, Aldi and Poundland all strengthening as consumers "trade down" | actscap

05/1/2023 10:42 | It's a good point. Students will socialise. When they socialise they will do other things at the same time - eat, drink, smoke, do drugs etc. It's just down to which they choose and to what extent they do them. If they choose smoking a few options would be - pot, cigarettes, shisha or vaping. The least damaging of those would be vaping, while maintaining the social 'benefits'. You go outside, you talk, you vape. So long as vaping is never marketed to children and isn't easily accessible to them then it should be no problem. It is the best 'bad' thing for you. All imho of course. | gb904150
05/1/2023 09:47 | Interesting article - thanks for sharing. I consider vaping as a lesser evil than smoking. And, in my mind, students who vape would have smoked in the past anyway. It's what students do. I'm drawn to the statement - "Of the more than 9,700 students who have used an Elf Bar, 60 per cent say they buy a new bar less than once a week"This suggests it's more of a social thing for many students - buying a vape for a big night out for example. I'd always get a pack of ten marlboro lights for a night out at uni. It's definitely something to keep an eye on, but I'm not overly concerned re. students vaping part time. I am more nervous outside the universities when school kids and teens take it up and seem to get hold of them easily. | actscap |
