22/1/2017 21:29 | Shareholders often lack patience. An incoming CEO should take his time, get a grasp on the business before sounding off, don't you think. Even more so for the Donald ! | corguv
22/1/2017 19:47 | Lots of interest in Goldstone on Twitter - some very large follower 'names' talking it up. Can see a good day tomorrow, STI will ultimately benefit in any sustained re-rate. I wonder whether GRL/STI are doing something with the Obuasi Mine in association with Anglo (a shareholder in Stratex) now illegals are being cleared, was told by Stratex Emma Priestly has been working with locals to get the illegals away etc. | tadtech
22/1/2017 18:10 | I think the problem right now is that Marcus in not tarnished or untarnished - more like invisible. How many months will he be in charge before people start saying there should be news by now? IMO that time has now arrived - what is going on with Altintepe and what income are we making? | glibgibon
22/1/2017 11:03 | I think juju's motto is 'tarnished until proven otherwise'. If everyone thought that way the world would be in a mess! | charles clore
21/1/2017 19:34 | It may not have escaped the attention of some here, that the US and Iran have agreed a settlement of the trade embargo, notably of gold trading. Iran have been selling petrochemicals to Turkey and have been paid back in gold. But the sanctions have hampered this somewhat. It's possible that the recent settlement will free up legitimate trade in Turkey for gold, and in that sense I am more hopeful that the government will start to become more active in allocating licences. Or at least, I'm hopeful that mr. market might see it that way. | smelgys mum
21/1/2017 19:13 | Ex - Stratex have done large expensive drill programs under the old Bods with little or nothing to show. Size is not everything ! For example Black Rock drilling £5million. GRL drilled just 3 holes in the Gabon with much better results than anything at Black Rock. There is a level of excitement over the recent 3 holes drilled at Homase in Ghana do they justify that excitement we shall see one way or the other. I am sure that Marcus will have looked at the whole package of Altintepe, GRL, Senegal and Thani Stratex before he accepted the job of Stratex CEO wishing to find further enhancement for an already successful career. | corguv
21/1/2017 18:40 | To an extend, shouldn't we be happy that the GRL program is tiny, since STI is picking up the tab and unlikely to be ever repaid. | novicetrade68
21/1/2017 18:08 | They said the core looked encouraging which didn't demonstrate that much excitement but I do hope it is a great result. I'm just a little surprised at all the eager anticipation for such a tiny drill programme, if you can even classify it as that. | exbiz
21/1/2017 17:53 | For a drill core to contain visible gold it has to be anything over 5g/t. What was exciting about this one in particular? I'm hoping they had trouble lifting the core sample on to the truck! | charles clore
21/1/2017 17:09 | Marcus is on record as saying those drill holes are very exciting. Of course he could just be full of BS, we will find out soon. | danieldruff2
21/1/2017 15:45 | It seems somewhat strange that there is such excitement about the results of the recent drilling at Homase which was described by Goldstone thus :- (three holes totalling 797 metres) on the Homase licence to explore the strike extensions of known ore shoots beneath the open pits that exploited higher-grade oxide material in 2001/02, has now been completed. Initial examination of core indicates encouraging signs of gold mineralisation and the Company is awaiting assay results from the laboratory. However, until the assays are received, no specific value, if any, can be attributed to these initial observations nor can it be determined at this stage whether the results will add to the existing JORC-compliant resource for Homase-Akrokerri of 602,000 oz gold. No specific value if any can be attributed !! Am I missing something ?? Corguv are you really suggesting that Marcus was desperate to join Stratex for exposure to a 3 hole 797meter drill programme. | exbiz
21/1/2017 10:42 | Goldstone certainly could be the next big one for Stratex but Altintepe needs to be nurtured as it will become the reliable source of income the company needs. There is also the possibility that Stratex could work in partnership with Bahar on their recent Turkish acquisition. | charles clore
21/1/2017 09:04 | Shavian, GRL may just be one of the best performing stocks of 2017. I have been in similar situations previously that have 25 bagged!! I retain 100% of my GRL holding for much, much higher prices. I target 10p short term and 20p - 30p later in 2017, if they can remain independent! :))) I also hold plenty of Stratex for 10p + target in 2017! :))) | goldenshare888
20/1/2017 22:11 | Blobby Hendrik was terminated when Stratex came onboard in 2014 correct. Isn't it interesting that GRL (Statex) announced he had started Legal Proceedings against GRL in October 2016 ? | corguv
20/1/2017 21:51 | corguv, According to Bloomberg, Hendrik left in October 2014. That is quite a long time ago now. It was not until 2016 that anyone (Stratex in this case) bothered to take a meaningful stake. I don't want to knock your theory too much, as I still rate Bob's ability as a geologist. I just doubt that a £1 million investment in GRL was the main reason for Marcus (then unemployed as far as I can see) wanting to have a well paid job as CEO in the UK. | blobby
20/1/2017 18:47 | Hendrik was paid £171,000 a year plus bonus plus share options and GRL has 6 projects in 3 countries with 20 prospects within these there are the keys imv to Marcus being prepared to take the job at tiny Stratex. Hendrik hit the news in October suing GRL then virtually cashless in the South African Courts imv as the former Exploration Director of GRL he knew well the potential value of the key prospects. I can add no more other than whilst Altintepe is a an asset it is GRL that has attracted Marcus to the CEO job at Stratex all imo etc | corguv
20/1/2017 17:47 | Come on Clan give us some more... | charles clore
20/1/2017 16:34 | Hendrik Schloemann GRL's former exploration director gave the clue back in October. | corguv
20/1/2017 15:38 | rom - I have held my core holding for over 5 years and it isn't leaving my possession for less than 10p. | charles clore
20/1/2017 15:07 | Obviously as soon as you hit the sell button at 4p it will go to 8p. Sod's Law. | romeike
20/1/2017 15:05 | I disagree. How it usually works with these gold minnows is you wake up one morning to find the stock up anywhere from 50% to 200% and go into instant panic as to whether or not to sell as all your pre-planned tactics go out the window :D | romeike
20/1/2017 15:01 | The transition from denial to eventual realisation that Stratex does, in fact, deserve a much higher share price will probably begin slowly then building, imho, to a crescendo as the figures for the first full year of production at Altintepe and profit made are released to the market. However GRL does appear to be stealing the limelight at the moment. | charles clore |
