Now that I have this back on topic....

..... of talking to myself about cats....

Any of you crazy cats lent themselves the payment they will get from the divi, to re-invest today instead of waiting for the divi, so they can earn a divi on the divi before the divi is paid?

I know it sounds mental, but...

Should be pointed out that SBLK is not a UK-listed stock.

Thanks spawny100, I looked at your other holds when you mentioned SBLK :-)

I am aware of MTs prowess as we have had common holdings in the past like CAML

I will post on the other threads once I think I have something meaningful to add, I find commodity based businesses pretty straight forward to evaluate but I am currently out of my depth while swimming in the shipping lanes ;-)

Apologies to other readers for the off-topic posts I have created

Read MT’s posts on each of the threads and you will see that he has done the dot joining for you and everyone else. He has invested in the shipping industry for many, many years and sees SBLK as his lowest risk investment and the nearest you will get to a sure thing over the next 3-5 years.

SBLK GOGL CAML POLR LIO GKP TGA BHP DEC I3E WIX are the other high div value shares I'm currently holding. All worth a look imo.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Gary1966, I will put it back on my research list, perhaps I will be able to join all the dots on the second attempt :-)

Rota,

You need to go back and look at SBLK as you have missed the investment case if you think it is so dependent on the BDI.

Read through the posts by Mount Teide, you will see what the investment case is then and how the geopolitical situation will only improve it along with no capacity in shipyards. Then look at refining capacity and the impact that, that is having.

The IPO was at 30p in 2005, never thought there would be a day to be pleased at such levels , replacement cost would be US$1bln

Teehee, I got that wrong! Wall Street opened down and the share price still went above 50p!

Already through 50p and after a quick back test courtesy of some automatic sell orders, the bid has now remained above 50p on the second attempt, so that resistance is cracked too imho

Still quiet here

If Wall Street starts in good positive territory I am guessing we will go through 50 today. Fingers crossed!

Usual games with displayed bid price; can actually sell for 48.5 currently.

Never understood why that's done - what's the point? Surely it makes more sense to just display the best bid price, rounded down to nearest penny (or half pence).

Guessing that is one of the weekend research crew

Should be another great day for volume, we are already at 70% of a normal total day's volume in the first 7 minutes!!

This is the only tip I could find out there in the metaverse, it gets mentioned by Zak Mir at the nine minute mark. He aptly describes it as an "obscure" share (apt as this demonstrates his understanding that few people would have heard of it) and mentions once it breaks 48p it should go into the mid 60s

Closed at 48p on Friday :-) Volume and momentum here is still organic, perhaps we will get a proper write up or tip somewhere with a decent readership in the next few days

Run-up to ex-div Thursday this week and dividend re-investment in a couple of weeks, both should provide significant volume and continue to uplift the price :-)

Can't imagine £4.30 in my wildest dreams but would be nice to have a crack at the remaining resistance around 62p over the next few days before it goes x-div. But at the same time that does not help long term investors wanting to get the dividend re-invested as cheap as possible :-(

Not sure what the answer to that is

Stockopedia only goes back to about 2005 when it traded at 355p.

Why so high? What was the turnover and eps.?

Plus of course the exchange rate was 150 tenge to the doller then - now 450! 3 times!

Extremely rare for a stock to pass 8 screens like this.
2 Growth screens, 1 Momentum screen, 1 Value screen, 4 Quality screens

Wan, I think what eggbaconandbubble was after was the full report

Unfortunately I can't paste that here, I can get to it but it is platform/web based and mostly pretty graphics so not download able and I can't paste just the text here

I have never paid for their service, just used a second email address for a free trial in the past

It's a similar tool to stockopedia, but I found stockopedia to be much more valuable, if you give stockopedia an email address they send you emails from time to time offering a free trial without asking for credit card details which is how their normal free trial offers work or did work

I must sound like a right tight wad, but I don't mind doing the research myself really rather than just replying on factor sraping platforms. That said they have been useful sometimes when I have run out of ideas and want to do some screening to filter the market down to a few shares that look interesting before starting more research
