17/1/2011 11:32 | from the header: "In addition to the above, Starvest has interests in the following quoted and unquoted companies, none of which are deemed to have significant value at this present time: Addworth plc - general investment holding company; Chalkwell Investments plc, formerly The Core Business plc; Goliath Resources Inc - Pink Sheets OTC ticker - GHRI; Treslow Limited - a copper-nickel prospect near Armstrong in North West Ontario, Canada; Woburn Energy plc (formerly Black Rock Oil & Gas plc) - AIM ticker: WBN Website: www.woburnenergy.com Chalkwell is up 26% today. Can anyone enlighten as to what stake SVE holds? | brando69
15/1/2011 07:12 | someone with a bit of time on their hands might go back and plot a graph showing disparity btwn nav and share price .. wld just need to go through the nav updates which have been released 4 times a year | brando69
14/1/2011 23:40 | I have not researched but it would be interesting to know what the historical gap is here between the share price and the NAV, i think this current year is the widest gap though. Reasons why? | divinausa1
14/1/2011 22:49 | S&M(!), I've got Corp Tax of £1m in there at present. Getting a NAV of 26.7p. | zedder
14/1/2011 17:45 | zedder I reckon when calculating NAV you need to assume Corp Tax = 20% of all increase beyond 11p per share and then apply 25% sector discount until they prove that 2011 is their year. Which with BEM and BEL (however confusing!) I think it might be. On a 12 month view I'm looking to see nearer 30p than 15, but I sense the market will let me buy on dips for a while yet. It's not an APF, but as a tiddler with unused bank borrowings as leverage (assuming they have replaced Anglo Irish as lender) it seems worth a punt even with its past history. | smoke and mirrors
14/1/2011 17:13 | zedder - 4 Jan'11 - 11:34 - 513 of 613 edit "zedder - 31 Dec'10 - 16:34 - 497 of 512 edit I make the NAV 30.4p which includes the exercise of all options, the exercise of the warrants in BEM, the sale of the treasury shares back into the market and allows a 20% discount on all the PLUS holdings. Be interesting to compare this to the company figure for 31st December 2010 when they release it." So about a 5p difference to what the company have just released. Quite sizable really and shows just how hard it is to keep track. I'll have to adjust down some of the holdings in the better performing shares, to account for the £530k of cash realised through sales on top of the FRA disposal. zedder - 4 Jan'11 - 11:35 - 514 of 613 edit It is unclear if exercise of warrants (eg 2,333,333 BEM) is in their valuation (I will assume not). That could explain approx 1.5p of the difference. I've been making the BEM/BEL mistake for some time now (see above). Shame someone didn't mention it before! Certainly helps explain the discrepancy then and it would be even more major now. I do apologise. | zedder

14/1/2011 13:11 | sensible strategy i'd say. BEM's soaring progress cant go on forever without a major pullback. am hoping sve have topsliced their holding | brando69
14/1/2011 13:09 | brando Having sold 75% of my BEM, have just joined the party. The 10k at 18.5 was mine and will look to build to max 50k on dips. Tried at 18 this morning but no takers. Couldn't buy any "at best" on-line (sipp with AJBell) for the last 2 hours so left the order at 18.5 to see if a lunch goer would oblige. | smoke and mirrors
14/1/2011 13:00 | they are going to have to start moving that bid up. expect to see it snap up to 18.5 soon | brando69
14/1/2011 12:58 | there goes the inevitable hike mm stock squeeze | brando69
14/1/2011 12:43 | conversely, if they fix it i might be inclined to renew my subscription... | brando69
14/1/2011 12:42 | brando...if you and a few others on this bb would pay them some monthly fees they would be able to afford to fix it sooner...LOL | maxbubble
14/1/2011 12:22 | advfn just replied re problems putting plus stocks in an online portfolio on the site: Dear Sir, Currently I'm afraid there is a slight bug with the Portfolio tool, whereby it is not possible to add PLUS stocks. Until this is fixed there is a workaround which is to add the stock as a user defined stock. To do that, go to the Portfolio and click on the User Quotes tab. Here you will be able to enter the data for the PLUS stock. Regards, ADVFN Support Team Seems pretty unsatisfactory. How long do they need to work sth like that out...? | brando69
14/1/2011 11:37 | "Where funds are available your Company will be looking either to support existing investee companies or take positions in selected later stage ventures where mineral resources have been confirmed and where shorter term returns are expected." I wonder if they will be looking to reallocate some of their huge gains from BEM etc into more mature companies this year | brando69
14/1/2011 11:29 | someone had to pay 18.75 for 20K shares this morning. reality is that even when the mms dropped the price over last few days, they wouldn't drop the offer. it was a shake if you ask me. they don't have that many shares and are keen to accumulate imho | brando69
14/1/2011 10:04 | gonna cost them about £80,000 to exercise those warrants. once converted into shares they are currently worth around £140,000 | brando69
14/1/2011 10:03 | warrants in BEL are currently worth about a tenth of what warrants in BEM would be worth... but fwiw, SVE can still cash in those warrants in BEL and be instantly in the money. | brando69
14/1/2011 10:00 | yes zedder get your act together man | maxbubble
14/1/2011 09:59 | but on a brighter note.... new 12 month high formed today. mini breakout | brando69

14/1/2011 09:47 | Zedder you got me excited there 2333333 warrants in BEM is worth quite a bit of money!! Unfortunately in BEL worth somewhat less!! ;-) | mattboxy
14/1/2011 07:41 | Just providing your source in reply to brando69: brando69 - 13 Jan'11 - 22:06 - 588 of 595 zedder can you talk us through these BEM warrants? | zedder |
