I agree Brando re 541 - some might like to get some capital back at a more attractive tax rate

Outsider, can you confirm that the 4m holding in BEM is AFTER the disposal shown below:

you would never want sve paying out 5p a share in divis when they can turn that 5p into 25p in the portfolio, would you? the day a co like this starts paying out big divis is the day they are running out of investment ideas and it's time to sell up and move on

I think its always under review - 5p would be nice number

BEM making new highs today. 46.75 that puts the SVE stake at near to £2m. Have a situation where BEM, KEFI, RRR RGM alone now accounting for whole of market cap

"zedder - 4 Jan'11 - 11:34 - 513 of 530 edit

I make the NAV 30.4p which includes the exercise of all options, the exercise of the warrants in BEM, the sale of the treasury shares back into the market and allows a 20% discount on all the PLUS holdings. Be interesting to compare this to the company figure for 31st December 2010 when they release it."

So about a 5p differnce to what the company have just released. Quite sizable really and shows just how hard it is to keep track. I'll have to adjust down some of the holdings in the better performing shares, to account for the £530k of cash realised through sales on top of the FRA disposal."

Having just re-read the recent RNS realised it states:

"A full corporation tax provision is included in the portfolio valuation."

I believe CT is 22% for small companies, but don't know if that applies to funds that hold shares in them?

For now I've assumed they have top-sliced significantly on BEM (they've done that before when they have warrants available) by 2m shares, and I've shaved some off the RRR and RGM holdings as well, so down to 7m and 30m respectively. I've also had a stab at the CT liability. Now get a NAV of 25.2p (with todays prices), which does not include the BEM warrants.

Ok maybe Zedder will keep you guys updated now, I am or have been selling to take advantage of a few opportunities I have recently researched.

However may well buy back in to SVE at anytime the share price gets good value.

Good luck to all SVE holders.

backmarker,
You are probably right ref TRK, and it was a wrench to sell 18k of 54k shares recently, but it has paid off handsomely. I view the TRK as more of a retirement holding (I'm only 48 so lots of time for them to be the next Apple!), but I'm happy to play shorter term on other shares.
