27/5/2010 15:19 | SirM I was just asking about you this morning. you must be more poorer than most, or have you dumped loads? Nic | nicd
27/5/2010 15:14 | Jwoolly still here just been busy fighting people of on the iii board.. Not happy about Aim ...as for funding we all knew it was coming so no real surprise...the discount is good for averaging down and the fact that no consolidation has taken place so all in all it isn't as bad as it could have been...let's not forget the times were in !!! They got the money ...this could have been worse...a lot worse !!! SirM Not overly happy but let's see an improvements in the boards approach to the shareholders and the market and let's start to see "traction" | sirmark
27/5/2010 14:53 | Stanelco - Funding announced Click for report Stanelco is raising up to £3.5m via a firm placing and a placing and open offer at 0.125p per share. The issue is subject to shareholder approval at a general meeting scheduled for 14 June. If successful, this will allow management to continue its strategy to develop its bioplastics business organically. Stanelco is focused on two areas: bioplastics and radio frequency (RF). The bioplastics division produces an organic-based resin (rather than oil) for use in the production of plastics, thereby ensuring final goods are biodegradeable and sustainable. | sirmark
27/5/2010 14:39 | We are going to be stuck here for a while if there is no news.Lots of sells parked at 14p [some of those that are taking up the offer at .125 have parked their existing stock with the MM's to sell at anything above the .125 as that represents a gain]. So, to put it in simple terms, we are where we have always been with regard to waiting for them to close a deal but we are all now considerably poorer. Perhaps 'renewed vigour' means they will answer the phone if it rings this time.[Personally I think they must be using a dodgy dictionary if they think what they've given so far is 'vigour'] | 2pearly
27/5/2010 13:00 | 2Pearly you're too quick you beat me to it! | daw2
27/5/2010 12:50 | 'Stanelco chief executive Paul Mines told Packaging News: "The US market is beginning to really move for us." Further away we presume? | 2pearly
27/5/2010 12:49 | If he is indeed still holding some, along with his relatives/friends like he said he was, I'm sure he also mentioned that he also held some in ISA's.... | jwoolley
27/5/2010 12:48 | My main issue still is this move into AIM market....for reasons as I have stated because not being able to hold shares in my ISA anymore...bummer...a Not sure how many others hold some of these in ISA's but I seem to remember so many people mention it over the years....so think its quite a few... Strange how Sirmark isn't making any comments.....?????? | jwoolley
27/5/2010 12:47 | 'A buy out could happen especially at these prices' you're not taking into account the higher number of shares! | the_doctor
27/5/2010 12:42 | fur equally they could wait for them to fall on their own sword and buy the juicy bits in fire sale, who knows ? too risky for me atm, i will wait a while and see what happens in a few months dont care if i miss big rise because i could just as easily loose my entire investment. last post from me for a while good luck (genuine) to you all | bulgarianpropertydoteudotcom
27/5/2010 12:39 | jeez one week it's 'glad we kept the RF going' next week it's 'biotechnologies' whatever that is | wolterix
27/5/2010 12:38 | Bioplastics group Stanelco generates finance in share issue Jill Park, packagingnews.co.uk, 27 May 2010 Stanelco has proposed to change its name to Biome Technologies on the same day as it announced its plans to raise £3.5m and move to the AIM market. Stanelco intends to raise £3.5m through a share issue, the proceeds of which will be used to fund bioplastics commercial development and working capital requirements. The majority of the shares will be placed with selected investors and the rest of the money will be raised through an open offer to existing shareholders. The company rebranded its bioplastics business in January this year as Biome Bioplastics, but retained the Stanelco name for its parent company and radio frequency business. It hopes that by bringing the group's name in line with the bioplastics business will strengthen brand recognition in the sector. Shareholders will be asked to vote on the name change at the EGM on 14 June. The company's bioplastics business is continuing to grow its presence in the US where it has a sales person on the ground. New developments from the group include a clear bioplastic and a range with higher temperature capabilities making it suitable for hot filling. Stanelco chief executive Paul Mines told Packaging News: "The US market is beginning to really move for us." He added that the business' continued growth of its bioplastics business has justified the name change to reflect that of this side of the business. "We now think biotechnologies reflect what the company is about," he said. In April Stanelco reported its pre-tax loss increased from £467,000 in 2008 to £3.5m last year due to foreign exchange rates. | wolterix
27/5/2010 12:30 | Consolidation would be the final nail in the coffin - every shorter from here to Moscow would think they'd died and gone to heaven. | largeronald
27/5/2010 12:28 | also takes out competitor without any regulatory or market share probs | fur
27/5/2010 12:26 | could be imo, lets face it if you want to enter the bio market or expand your patents then why not? A buy out could happen especially at these prices. | bulgarianpropertydoteudotcom
27/5/2010 12:21 | noted. looking into this Plantic and National Starch mention earlier on this board. Could have some legs that; plantic buy us to get tech cheap (if it is really patented) and expand its current dealings with National Starch in USA. Maybe behind the buys? | fur
27/5/2010 12:10 | would all these buys be shorts closing? | fur
27/5/2010 11:43 | Induna123 that is exactly what happens on most consolidations even when the company is well run. Unfortunately they will have to consolidate as that lazy fat greedy Finance Director at SEO can't count past 3! | daw2
27/5/2010 11:41 | could be a very big difference between today's selling price 0.0013p as people seem to want to be buying and the price post placing where it could be below 0.0009p. Today spread has closed down yet most days there is a huge spread the latter of which will increase aagain whan everyone tries to offload their 0.00125p shares and no one wants to buy. Could be as much as a 50% difference or more for what you sell now and what you can sell next week.......unless of course Mines can change the habit of a lifetime and do a deal....LOL | daw2
27/5/2010 11:41 | In case any of you are unaware, Beacon Hill Resources BHR went through a consolidation of 25:1 a couple of months ago. They had over 6 billion shares in issue too. The share price at the time was 0.32p, 8p after consolidation. Since then the share price has fallen from 8p to 4p. | induna123
27/5/2010 11:37 | you got 1 year and thats it unless they get that illusive deal. i would be more worried about an appeal from nova and more litigation that could kill this co very quickly | bulgarianpropertydoteudotcom |
