ยท "UK bus business continues to benefit from government support, fully underwriting the cost of operating service. Patronage levels have also proved resilient" National Express statement today. SGC likely to do even better IMO.

Good to hear roks, don't rush to sell just yet Remember why you bought. Government grants will result in this company return similar profits as previous years, taken from recent trading update! Alot of companies can't say that when there share price have approached near 2019 prices! SGC is only testing march and may lows!!! Crazy how overlooked this was

This is my largest holding. Been buying most days for months, holding an average of 41p. It was an easy buy when you looked at the ridiculous 200m/cap. Many days there were significantly more buys than sells yet the price was marked down, but i was always super confident here :) Well done all holders :)

"unless you were brave enough to buy in the 30+p." Bought at 38p and 36.5p only a months wage so not exactly brave but hopefully bag soon , doubled up at 57p this morning, thought why not given where it's going. No dilution/No rise in debts and roughly a 1/3rd of the price of last year, it's a buy upto 90p for me imho.

It may rise much quicker than expected. The lockdown will be over in three weeks and the vaccine is nearing production. GLA

Should rise to around one pound over the next few months. Not likely to fall below 49p even in the short term IMO.

Well perhaps "pop" rather than "boom",unless you were brave enough to buy in the 30+p range. But the vaccine is good news and eventually this will recover, fingers crossed.

Nice tick up this morning, more people using buses in my area, not rammed by any means, but definitely more passengers.

Government will keep paying them to run services until this is over, also furlough to March now so no problem to stagecoach.

2vdm... Note the recent trade statement.. The recent government announcements to impose further restrictions may discourage public transport use in the short-term. We are grateful for the measures put in place by the respective governments in England, Scotland and Wales, and by our local authority partners, to protect the continuity of local bus services throughout this period. In August, the Department for Transport confirmed that payments for the provision of these essential services by regional bus operators in England would continue until no longer required. These COVID-19 Bus Services Support Grant Restart payments are continuing, with an eight week notice period. While this and similar arrangements are in place, we expect to continue to generate positive EBITDA and avoid significant operating losses.

Am I correct in thinking that the gov't are underwriting companies like SGC until Feb? Assuming that a vaccine will be found by the summer, which is what big pharma think is realistically possible, we may still be in a for a bumpy ride between Feb and a vaccine being available. Thoughts appreciated.
