Something I didn’t know... the 350,000 AIS units account for the majority deployed worldwide.

Nothing really new - the contracts will just be announced when they’re signed - no hints or clues.

Well they have extended the facility to £20m as insurance I guess.

Those intangibles look important now

Reaction in market seems positive on thin trading

Reads like a history lesson

Usual fare and the second half has only 4 months to go.

Like Total comprehensive loss for the period (3,128,024)

All hope and belief - Show me the signed contracts - Otherwise one (imo) for the bottom drawer - If you believe - or bail out if significant doubts as to whether contracts will ever materialise.

Or as they say in Roulette - Rien ne va plus.

I would suggest saying nothing isn’t an option Yuma.I don’t expect a contract announcement-more likely more jam but hopefully with a lucid timeline

No its not.

If there was a contract signing it would be material and therefore would have to be announced immediately. It could not be saved up for results day.

Unless one gets signed tomorrow, it will be a non-event day. Results already flagged.

The Economist has produced a subscription only supplement entitled The World Ahead 2022 which forecasts trends for the coming year. They see 2022 as the year "the world will wake up to the scourge of illegal fishing". They highlight the prospect of a WTO deal to force countries to end most of the harmful subsidies (on fuel etc)to their fisheries which should reduce long distance fishing. The article includes the following:

"Mark Zimring of the Nature Conservancy (TNC)highlights the convergence of advanced technology enabling better monitoring of fishing fleets, as retailers strive to keep IUU (illegal, unreported and unregulated)caught fish out of their supply chains. The technology - from satellite imagery revealing dark fleets to onboard e-monitoring of catches using big data - will become commercially viable at scale in 2022, Mr Zimring predicts."

What I find useful about message boards in general is when I learn something I didn’t already know. It can be factual or someone’s opinion that might provoke an alternative line of thought about a stock. What isn’t useful to me, or many others I suspect, is repeatedly making the same point. Talking Heads song, Psyco Killer contains the line “say something once, why say it again”. I agree.

A few bits of information are worth mentioning that fall into the former category.

Whilst I saw a copy of the recent Bulletin as a result of being a shareholder, it is distributed to anyone who has ever enquired about an SRT product so provides an opportunity to update thousands of potentially interested people with what SRT are doing and the latest product news.

METS was deemed successful in terms of enabling John Guercio, the man who appeared at the AGM and who was hired to promote SRT “internalsR21; including Nexus to OEM’s. SRT now has direct contact with 10 major OEM’s which allows a two way flow of information and requirements. I’m told the campaign to bring Nexus to the attention of these major OEM’s has been a “great success”

In the case of Em-trak, METS is the opportunity to display SRT equipment to dealers and is always well worth the effort of attending.

SRT’s second generation AIS engine named Cobalt from memory is about 5 years old and Nexus is the first product to use a new 3rd generation engine. So as mentioned in Bulletin, it will be the first in a line of new improved versions of Class A and Class B using the new platform.

According to SRT, Nexus itself is a new product segment. It integrates AIS Class B and DSC/VHF radio into a single device with some special and very significant functionality and capabilities. Today in the market, there are a lot of combined AIS receiver and VHF radios, and a few combined AIS Class B and VHF radios. Nexus is in the later segment, but with some very innovative and unique functionality that SRT are certain will significantly disrupt this segment and give it a significant market share of the very big marine VHF radio market. The marketing that everyone has seen so far is only aimed at OEM's who are the initial target.

The Analytics Lab mentioned in Bulletin has involved no new hires but has formalised an existing activity given the importance of the role of developing appropriate analytical functions within Geovs. It will specifically focus on looking at the sort of multi sensor data being collected to identify new ways of distinguishing between vessels going about their lawful business and those that appear not to be doing so.

Some years ago, as a result of meeting Geoff, aka The Prophet, I discovered we had attended the same school a few years apart and we exchanged information as a result of meeting at the AGM. I think many here like me miss his input to our collective knowledge.

So whilst some here cast doubt on SRT ever being a success, I can only quote another musical reference. This time from the pen of Neil Diamond. No it’s not Sweet Caroline, it’s from the Monkees hit, “I’m a believer, not a trace of doubt in my mind”

That’s my position.

these projects are super important for these countries then, really urgent stuff, makes you wonder dont it not

they've raised a lot of capital over the years and the return just isn't there is it

and now they're eating into a debt pile, that'll need paying down at some point, all the cash from bfar has gone into paying an increasing wage bill here, nothing is left for investors - nothing - zero

never mind, this year will be different,,,, again, lol

It’s all about the contracts CM-the half year numbers were terrible, as were the 2020 full year.£3m loss on £4m turnover in 6 months is poor whichever way you cut it.

So we turn to the reliability of the VSP-and who verified it as it sure is getting long in the tooth.

I agree ST is the best man to execute but he is under pressure to deliver hard positive recurring cashflow.

Pessimists sell, optimists buy, I, and I suspect many others, are grateful to LAV for his detailed research. I keep an eye on Philgeps. This is the Philippines gov platform that organises all procurement contracts. For some time it has been going round in circles because of covid and few staff in attendance. It is now getting its act together and contracts are now on the move. Following the success of BFAR, SRT is in prime position for other agency contracts, such as the coastguard. My understanding of Philgeps is that companies register their interest in certain spheres. They are then given an indication of the specification of impending contracts so that they have their bids ready for when the contracts go public. There is usually 30 days from the release of a contract spec and the award of contract. The bids are sifted out to verify those that meet the spec and it is then awarded to the lowest bid. Those who went to the AGM will have seen the kit waiting to be dispatched for the long awaited ME contract. Upon delivery of the initial kit and software there should be a major slug of cash due to pay off all company debt. We had news last week of KMIS and the now reawakened Kuwait contract. Hopefully KMIS will be followed by major infrastructure contracts which will have to be done with SRT because all the feeds have to go through the Geovs hub. Bahrain appears very happy with its initial contract and the follow on contract has been in the pipeline for ages. Bahrain's problem is that it has no oil money. However, its location is vital for the US navy. (The UK also uses Bahrain as a naval base. The US will be desperate for the upgrade so that it can monitor Iran, just across the water. I suspect that the US will be spending the dollars. A few years ago Indonesia signed a contract with a Swiss company, who had SRT as its supplier. I think that contract was cancelled because of corruption? I am hoping that this is now on the agenda and awaits budget approval. If this one comes off it will be mega. All of those islands and coastline. I asked at the AGM if this one was in the VSOP. It is not, because the budget has yet to be approved. Another big one is Vietnam, where fishing and China are very important. No doubt Vietnam is watching the roll out of BFAR. I was fortunate with VCP, where GW transformed the company giving shareholders at least 20 times growth: the growth was due to him. I am anticipating similar growth with SRT and it will be primarily due to the efforts and ability of ST. It is inevitable that there will be various attempts to take out SRT by a big player. SRT will soon be recognised as being unique. However, a large number of shares are held by a few PI's who I suspect recognise the long term growth potential of this one and they will reject take over bids and run with the growth. They also probably value the AIM / IHT benefit.

As always CM, your comments are very relevant. But the key point is ‘if and when’ these pesky contracts land.Until then, it’s more cash burn, increasing debt etc. This will put pressure on the balance sheet.

You could argue borrowing is easier on the eye for shareholders but it has to be serviced and paid back and may be indicative of a weary shareholder base unwilling to keep injecting cash

load of old nonsense, didn't they say similar things about their previous tech platform iterations

they keep reinventing the wheel here just to say relevant and and are competing in a commoditized product market, everyone is making this kinda stuff, and it aint enough to pay the wage bill either
and you're all still waiting for buses to plop off the conveyor belt of jam, so it's no good blathering on about repeat sales when they're not even getting the signings away
debt creeping up now like a goodun, will need paying and not just kicking the can down the road by expanding the facility
where's that bakky hjb hysterical nut job these days, thought he'd be all over this crying and whining like it does, lol

AE,
The opening paragraph:-This is all part of the first phase of a newly
deployed and activated SRT-MDA System.> Many people fail to recognise the follow on potential of these systems contracts. Once SRT is embedded within a Country the follow on contracts are there for SRT to lose. After the initial contract there will be years of bolting on extra sales, together with sales of satellite information. Long standing shareholders (and management) have been waiting for the arrival of major contracts, but next week???

new bulletin - including a clearer image of the Nexus on a table I believe. Talks of a series of new products using core transceiver engines so not just one new device.

Also a new Marine Analytics lab established within the Systems product management team. Wonder who they are?
