Although I have been an SRT shareholder for sometime there are lapses in my memory that I hope LAV will put right.
My understanding:-
Bahrain was the very brave Country that first showed confidence in SRT and bought into a system. Bahrain, Kuwait Saudi (and others?) have a joint gulf defence agreement and they have all agreed? to use the SRT system. The UK and US base their fleets in Bahrain, which does not have oil revenues and relies on money from other Countries. A few years ago Kuwait signed a contract with SRT for an initial system. Then the Minister changed and wanted a bigger contract which would have included large amounts of identifiers. There have been various government changes and covid and nothing has moved forward. It would now appear that things are at last moving. I am assuming (no evidence) that the total contract will be in excess of $100 million.

KMIS means Kuwait Maritime Identification System. I see that the You tube has had 25 hits in the last 30 mins. I wonder why?

I have a friend who spends a lot of time in the ME and he knows of my interest in SRT.I have been asking him to keep an eye on Kuwait news. He sent me a link to a you tube which is about a national TV news story yesterday. He gave me a resume about the content, which is in arabic. (I am unable to translate). He knows Kuwait politics very well and apparently the Government has been unstable for some time but now appears to be more settled. Apparently, 6 mins into the video there is mention of KMIS, which is the SRT contract. There is also mention of Class A and Class B. He thought that I might be interested (Which I am). The link is From what he has told me the SRT contract is back and is now moving at speed. fingers crossed.

One thing seems odd, if Nexus is just AIS + VHF it is not very innovative - combo products have been on the market for a few years and a number of the Asian manufacturers are selling them. Therefore, Nexus must be something else or else it is not going to be a growth driver.

Like you, in a tad fed up with the ‘teases’-at the end of the day, the company needs to make sales-big ones.

Where's my Christmas present of contracts ?

I guess the buses are stranded in the station because of lack of drivers.

In ST's agm presentation we were given a teasing image showing the bottom RH corner of Nexus. The latest video on Twitter shows a very dark view of a bit more starting about 13 seconds in. Having zoomed in, I'm sure what I can see corresponds to the agm photo. Not that it makes me very much wiser, sadly.

I am assuming that anything visible on em-trak stand relates purely to existing range of transceivers etc.
Nexus is only being 'soft launched' to OEMs - and directly to them by SRT (not em-trak).
However, assuming this is the case I can't quite figure out who the little 'teaser' videos are aimed at. At last count there were three - the latest showing on SRT's Twitter page yesterday.
Joe Public will not be seeing anything 'Nexus' on the market for at least another 12 months - when the technology will be available under several brands, including em-trak.
This is my understanding anyway, any views from my more learned colleagues appreciated.
EDIT: Perhaps these 'teasers' are to sustain us LTH's! :0)

Thanks @goodapple.

Is this part of the NEXUS "tease"?

We can see half a strapline on the back wall - "Ultimate ..... AIS Anywhere" and a graphic showing convergence of VHS radio/PC/Chart plotter.

Hope we get some post-exhibition feedback of the Nexus soft launch and the industry reaction.

Fortunately not too many:

'METSTRADE 2021 is good to go. Our doors will safely open on November 16. The new set of COVID-19 measures announced tonight by the Dutch Government have limited impact for B2B events that take place at RAI Amsterdam. Our RAI COVID-19 protocol for events ensures that METSTRADE 2021 can take place in a safe and responsible way.'

"Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has announced Western Europe's first partial Covid lockdown of the winter, with three weeks of restrictions for shops, sport and catering."

Restrictions start this evening.

Not clear what the implications for METS may be.Unfortunate timing.

I think so AE. It has a F1 car in it for some bizarre reason.

Re the reviews etc, very geeky these people, aren't they? I have no idea what would be actually useful on most boats for most people, but reliablility and simplicity would be my key issues.

I noticed an Emtrak ad on Panbo. Maybe sweetening Ellison up a bit. He is always a member of these product of the year panels.

Is the video the one they uploaded on 9 Nov, lasts 33 seconds and doesn't show the product?

BTW, found this old review of Cortex with user comments appended - clearly liked but not without shortcomings

AE

I think one of the differences between what Vesper has got and SRT's new product is that Vesper have stuck a VHF radio in their box (i.e. a separate piece of kit alongside the AIS etc) whereas SRT are producing an integrated product. Quite how that makes them chalk and cheese in terms of functionality is something we will have to wait to discover, I suppose.

They have a new teaser video out, BTW.

I think we all know that mate but with promises comes expectation and delivery-both in short supply of late. The balance sheet needs a contract as much as the shareholders.
