10/7/2017 12:59 | pmslEmployee share scheme guarantee, BoD share options, re-sale, etc, etc. Makes not a jot of difference when it's a private Co.See SPD have approached Dunne Stores with a view of buying up to 7 stores - get then on the BS asap! What's their Euro hedging like? pmslDD | discodave4

10/7/2017 12:00 | Maybe he thinks he could use them as colateral in a takeover bid, such as Debenhams for example. Maybe he just wanted to get the controlling stake under board control so no one could launch a cheeky takeover bid. Maybe he knows what's in results and intends to sell them back at a good profit (my prefered option but unlikely)The thing is he can cancel them whenever he feels, keeping them accessible gives him options. | terminated
10/7/2017 10:37 | Cheers mate | nortic 007
10/7/2017 10:35 | That is how I see it ... short term , imho , the only consequence of SPD buying their own stock is to steady the share price. I have no idea ...time will tell | ignoble
10/7/2017 10:10 | Surely the whole idea of the buyback is to then cancel thus improving the fundamentals ?That's what's the normal thing to do is but as we we know MA is not exactly normal !!! | nortic 007
10/7/2017 10:04 | Aye 'tis odd Sports Direct still have had to pay for the shares the company has bought That must be costing a few bob ! | ignoble
10/7/2017 09:57 | Let's say he had thoughts of buying the remainder of shares in issue surely he would have to buy the treasury shares but if he was to cancel them that would not be the case ? I can't believe he would be aloud to do this. Maybe this is why he hasn't cancelled them?If MA were to take it private would the premium on the treasury shares come back to shareholders as a final dividend before the big fella disappears to Monaco and out of the corporate spotlight ? | nortic 007
10/7/2017 09:35 | Puzzling indeed | ignoble
10/7/2017 09:30 | Question Why hasn't MA cancelled the shares that SPD have bought ?There must be a reason for this. | nortic 007
09/7/2017 15:15 | "Longer term dollar profits from overseas operations can be used to purchase stock avoiding conversion".Curious, which stores would that be?.DD | discodave4
09/7/2017 10:55 | Wonder if MA would be interested in this stake:hTTps://www.th | discodave4

08/7/2017 17:54 | Prelims in 8 trading days time, be interesting to see if the share price breaks its weekly or monthly resistance (298 & 302 respectively) up to results, be keeping a close on it for trading wouldn't touch this as an investment though - boo hiss. | discodave4
