08/7/2017 17:03 | Revenue may IMO be slightly up on forecasts, circa £3,260m but margins are going to get hit, again all in the opinion of a sad deramper. But then most on here only think revenue is important so everything will be tickety boo. Do hope so for all the nice LTH.DD | discodave4
08/7/2017 15:57 | And he still hasn't got a position but so much passion . | nortic 007
08/7/2017 15:46 | Amusing how he feels the need to respond every comment. Price has a bad year factored in, it's all about next year now. I do wonder how the new mega stores are doing, they look like a positive move but i wouldn't say my local is jam packed when I go in, saying that they seem to operate on the same number of staff and I believe he buys the properties outright so running costs should not increase greatly. It does have everything you could possibly want but for me the designs are still low market but that's reflected in price. | terminated
08/7/2017 15:08 | That's not a gross margin, it's operating. We all know it's not been a great year. Gross last year was 55% Net was 10% | unnavailable
08/7/2017 13:38 | ....and JD's margins have come under pressure (as per trading update 29th June), doesn't bear thinking about if SPD's have suffered too as not much margin headroom in the first place. | discodave4
08/7/2017 13:31 | JD manage about 10% margin. | discodave4
08/7/2017 13:26 | About 4%Not much margin in bricks and mortar retail. | discodave4
08/7/2017 13:25 | If the decimal point could move to the right that would be great. | nortic 007
08/7/2017 13:20 | True mate. Just hope there's no unpleasant surprises . If he turn up at the meeting p!ssed we're all doomed:( | nortic 007
08/7/2017 13:15 | For revenue of 3.18 bn a gross profit of 130.7 million doesn't seem a lot in percentage terms ...3% gross but someone please check my maths in case I have a decimalpoint in the wrong place All Imho Guess that is modern retail | ignoble
08/7/2017 13:11 | DDI wish you were that fireplace | nortic 007
08/7/2017 13:09 | Broker forecasts: Rev £3.18bn, pre tax profit £130.7m | discodave4
08/7/2017 12:51 | Good figure, bad figure, bad figure, bad figure what's the difference . Doesn't matter what he does the relationships with the City was over along time ago. In a nutshell they will always moan except for when the share price was £9 and then he could vomit in any fireplace he wanted and they didn't care.I know how the City works .) | nortic 007
08/7/2017 12:39 | Wow he still doesn't have a finance director in place. Jeeesssuuusss. I wonder if the question and answer session is broadcasted live, it will be interesting listening. Will the city trust his figures without a regulated financial director in place. | terminated
08/7/2017 11:28 | The most thumps up I've ever seen on this post was from me and unfortunately it wasn't about SPD but concerned filtering you.I think that says it all.Maybe you should look that up . I was told off a while back for calling you a mong but you always prove your supporters wrong over time. | nortic 007
08/7/2017 11:20 | Au24Good morning sirI echo your thoughts on the miscreant. You haven't changed DD and I'm afraid to say you're obviously one of life's underachievers. This is going to sound very strong but there are people in the world who's life's are cut short through no fault of there own and people who deserve a chance in life. Your existence is a wasted one sir and if it would be possible to donate your life to someone who deserve it then that would be the honourable thing to do but I just guess that's not you is it!!!!What a sad and lonely life you live and you have the cheek to criticise MA.The lesser of 2 evils . | nortic 007
08/7/2017 11:04 | The result of all this....... he takes it private and everyone can go their separate ways. His behaviour in know way can be defended but some of his critics should be careful about throwing stones in their greenhouses . | nortic 007
08/7/2017 11:01 | My wife has a muzzie for the baby. You are such a self righteous lefty snow flake DD who just loves to grab at any perceived attack on your vision of life. Get a real life and take in the homeless instead of spending all day looking up my posting history. | au24
08/7/2017 11:00 | Good article, agree with most but still believe "Selfridges" is not the right strategy going into a period of economic uncertainty and higher inflation.Did make me smile:"Mr Odey and others have questioned why the company has been buying up failing American businesses and increasing a position it holds in Debenhams, while its core British chain was faltering."MA clearly doesn't care if the numbers are poor, he wants to spend as much free cash as he can, get assets on the books, suppress/drop the sp, take it private, rinse and repeat.DDps more money to be made here day trading than investing. Wouldn't want to be holding any great amount in the 320's or even 325's. | discodave4 |
