Really liking the fact that Tosca have added another 1.5%. Now at 16.9%. They voted down the takeover stating the price was too low.

Likely they were already seeing the NHS waiting list issues on the horizon that we're now hearing about in the main stream media, which is hardly a surprise of course and means there will be an increase in people who paying for or who will need to pay to have things done privately if they want them done any time soon.

Probably what Ramsey thought they could get ahead of and benefit from with their attempted cut price deal to buy Spire.

Tough situation for those affected but you know that won't stop thee finance people looking to profit!

Interesting that ToscaFund (who rejected the bid) is up to 14% of Spire now.

At the start of the bid process back in May, they held 5.4% I believe

Price now suggests market has woken up to potential of company/ bidder may still yet re-emerge to take out. I'm no chartist but the uptrend line ignoring the bid looks healthy. Sit back and wait for £3+ in 2022

Tosca fund look to have pretty much doubled their holding. Presumably means that the deal has no chance of going through. That's circa 25% between Fidelity and Tosca, both declared to be in opposition.

Happy to short term pull back even sub £2 if the takeover collapses as shares fair value is surely £3+ IMV

I guess everyone who thought the price was too cheap and wouldn't sell out have got their wish.

The price movement this week implies it won't be going through.

Good luck everyone, Sid.

I think we all small share holder should vote against this. Valuation is too low. it should be minimum 3.10. since 2017 they also added new hospitals so why the board agreeing lower price instead of 3.50. My questions is offer on the table is 2.40! is anybody can help me to understand the reason for market price is 2.50! I got some decent amount of shares just want to know from any guru what to do! sell it now for 2.50 or wait another month to get 2.40! Thanks in advance to the gurus if you can advice.

FWIW ... I too, voted against ...

Both the Court Meeting and the General Meeting are to be held on 12 July 2021. The Court Hearing will be held on 16 July 2021. If all of the necessary approvals are attained, then the Scheme is expected to become effective on 19 July 2021 and the cancellation of Spire shares from trading on 20 July 2021.

In the Times ... Toscafund Asset Management, a second large shareholder in Spire Healthcare, has come out against the £1bn takeover of the listed private hospitals chain by an Australian rival.

Fidelity rejecting the takeover saying its worth 400. They have 9% ish. At 250 offered the market is giving a 20% probability of a 300 bid. Or a 10% prob of a 350 or a 6.7% prob of a 400. Any views out there? Is there a chance with the directors and major shareholder (latter = 30% I believe) saying “yes” that this bid could be rejected? I see the acceptance of this offer as rather unambitious if not craven. If this does get rejected heads will need to roll.
