Does anyone think that the amendment to the contract by the largest central bank has anything to do with Fusion ... and he was sending us a message that the extra monies achieved would be used for extra sales and marketing for Fusion.

I think we all agree on the lack of business development resource. I was delighted to see that the extra funds from G7 development project is going to fund more - specifically for Fusion. That is spit on as Fusion is the area that will break us out of the size we are and our the share price on steroids. The broker note suggested that the demise of Portals banknote operation has produced some appropriate resource which sounds perfect

I agree on your final point .. He does need to beef up the sales team .. but l don't know why you need a CEO for this ...

Its nice to see the positive news. Hopefully these will ''manifest'' into contracts which force my words back into my own mouth!!
nice.. Genius? Well maybe but surely ant genius would have built a team around himself to protect us all from any possible insanity?

I dont think its unfair for shareholders to question his strategy and why he runs it as a one man show?

I still think it could be better for us all if Nabil concentrated on the innovation and R&D, and employ a better salesman as CEO?

Anyone that has been looking at the short term graph of Spectra...maybe disappointed with the performance. But looking at five year graph which is really where you should be looking with a share like this ... The uptrend of the share price is clearly intact with a solid growth in the share price of 78 percent ...dividends doubling to 11 cents in this time with a total dividends in 5 years of 48c ...l don't have to remind too many people where this was trading 7 years ago. This now yields 7.5 percent ... Which is into cigarette territory where there is zero - two percent growth. Finally we have a PE ratio of around 15 that when you minus cash is just above 10......so tell me what's not to like about Spectra .,..

It's incredulous that anyone criticises Nabil after all he has achieved at Spectra. The man is a GENIUS,period.

RE: higher demands for cash

"Whilst this first sale is not expected to materially impact our performance this year, we are optimistic that it will open the door to additional sales as central banks are seeing higher demands for cash with rising inflation while processing staff continue to struggle with pathogens ranging from common E. coli to Sars-2 and now monkeypox"

News article from BBC 8 Aug.2022

People are going back to cash to keep tighter control on their spending as living costs soar, according to new research by the Post Office.

Post offices handled £801m in personal cash withdrawals in July, the most since records began five years ago.

That's up more than 20% from a year earlier...

True they probably don't care much...but what they most definitely do care about is losing revenue...and spending out a few hundred grand on a note cleaning machine .. show due diligence towards staff and customers....

Casinos don't care if people's lives are ruined through gambling. Why should they care if people's lives are ruined through infections from banknotes?

If you have 100 pounds and there is 10 percent inflation .. then the next year you require 110 pounds for the same purchase...

Not sure I understand the logic that higher inflation will lead to more people holding cash.I feel more inclined to hold bottles of 2009 Pomerol

The last three of SPSY's share buybacks were extremely well timed, unlike the one at 173p some time ago which prompted me to top up my long standing holding at a similar price, with hindsight a very poor decision as I am still well underwater having bought a small quantity some years ago for circa 18p. With the benefit of hindsight I wish that I had purchased a lot more SPSY at 18p LOL.

Long term like Nico115 I have great faith in Nabil and his long term strategy for the company and innovative R&D with a substantial moat.

Its actually amazing how mis-understood this share is ... the most important central bank uses Spectra System to develop its next generation security systems for banknotes and actual pays upfront for all development costs .... how many companies would chew their right arm just to be in bed with this customer .

Investing in sales/marketing is great .It's probably one piece of the jig saw that's been missing.Fusion could be a massive game changer here and I'm delighted with this Rns.

Good timing Nico. That is a material upgrade.

I also note these broker comments from a couple of weeks ago:

The growth in business with the new printer customer using Spectra's specialty optical materials for K-cups for Keurig brewers is on track to hit the target of at least $1m in high margin revenue. And in TruBrand, there have been successful gravure tests with a potential customer. Finally management remains confident of selling the first banknote cleaning/disinfection unit(s) in 2022.
• In polymer bank notes, the print trial with a Middle Eastern central bank are ongoing. Spectra's Fusion is the first machine-readable covert polymer substrate. In Q4 FY21, Spectra produced a large number of custom designed polymer substrate sheets with full conductive and opacity layers for this potential. The company has ongoing discussions with a number of potential customers.

The fact that all the old arguments are being laid out again tells its own story of course. There is little new to talk about. I am seriously frustrated t the share price but believe in the integrity of the CEO - if not his ability to win any major new business. So I see it as a safe place for my cash with the dividend as we wait. Why anyone who doesn't think Nabil is the right man for the job is still here as a shareholder I find very strange

Totally agree Nabil is a top bloke ,Humble and sensitive ,brainy and street wise. He's delivered huge profit growth ,dividend rises and cash balances What's not to like except the share price but if anyone wants to moan call up the brokers as they don't make any buyersMy target price is still 4 pounds plus If fusion takes off then 20 pounds

My holding whilst large for me is I am sure dwarfed by the holdings of others and yet my experience is that Nabil has given his time and thoughts openly and honestly to me.
