21/5/2005 07:12 | Well, there was the bid from a consortium including David Frost and Gavin Davies ???( the ex Salomons or Goldman Sachs partner and Govmt adviser ) who I think went to Southampton Uni and is a mad keen Saints supporter. I wonder if this is still in the offing and it could allow Lowe to leave with his ego intact and at an acceptable profit | inafrica | |
20/5/2005 19:04 | rambutan2 Not sure about the mortgage on the ground, although its easy to see total debt/liabilities from the last set of results. I confess that I'm still learning about this one and how footie club accounts work exactly. However, I remain convinced, that if Man United are worth £800M, the Saints are worth considerably more than £8M. There must be dozens of multi-millionaires (including recently retired footie players) based on the south coast who would love to own one of the ultimate rich boys toys, i.e. a classy football club such as SOO | timbo003 |
